Nigel Farage and Nella Rose had another tense exchange on Tuesday night’s instalment of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! as the pair got into a discussion over cultural appropriation.
In what is quickly becoming one of the most dramatic series’ of all time with both Jamie Lynn Spears and Grace Dent quitting the show, the heated conversation resulted in the YouTuber branding the ex-UKIP leader ‘ignorant’ and ‘deluded’, before refusing to speak to him as her trial approached.
And in Wednesday night’s episode Nigel attempted to build bridges with the influencer as she told the politician: ‘you’ll never understand my issues and struggles’.
Heading over to Nella’s hammock, Nigel asked: ‘Have I upset you, Nella?’ to which she replied: ‘Yeah.’
Seemingly unaware of the issue, Nigel said: ‘Right, well tell me why,’ as Nella responded: ‘I just feel like you were very dismissive about cultural appropriation yesterday.’

I’m A Celebrity’s Nella Rose has accused Nigel Farage of being ‘dismissive’ of cultural appropriation in Wednesday’s episode after their tense exchange on Tuesday evening: ‘you’ll never understand my issues and struggles’

The ex-UKIP leader, 59, and YouTuber, 26, have very opposing political opinions and have previously fallen out in camp over issues such as immigration and Brexit.
The heated discussion kicked off over a discussion over Jamaicans pronouncing ‘water’ as ‘wata’ – after Jamie Lynn began to ask questions.
Nigel was quick to get involved, telling Fred Sirieix: ‘If you said that, they’d call it cultural appropriation, Fred.’
Nigel made his views clear over accents, saying: ‘It’s when suits, they criticise when suits.
‘If a white person does a black accent, that’s considered to be a crime. That they should be cancelled.’
However, Nella was quick to explain: ‘It depends on what context. If you’re taking the p*** then you’re taking the p***. But if you’re not, then you’re not.’
Reflecting on last night’s conversation, Nigel told Nella: ‘No, I was concerned about it,’ while the influencer shot back: ‘You kind of made a joke of it.’
While Nigel’s confusion seemed to stem from the context of when a comment edges into cultural appropriation, he asked Nella, ‘Do you think it’s OK in a song?’

Nigel then argued that if he ‘dressed as Mexican’ for a fancy dress party, the press would accuse him of ‘cultural appropriation’, saying he was baffled at why that is the case
‘Of course,’ she replied ‘We’re in the jungle, making music out of boredom. How does that get you any sort of backlash?’
She continued: ‘It was the costume reference. It was what you said of like, “Oh, but if I was to dress up in a certain costume, then I’d get the backlash”, basically trying to imply that we can say and do whatever we like and not get backlash, but when you do it, you get backlash. That’s what I interpreted.’
Nigel had argued that if he ‘dressed as Mexican’ for a fancy dress party, the press would accuse him of ‘cultural appropriation’, saying he was baffled at why that is the case.
This led Nella to explain: ‘You can’t use somebody’s culture as a fancy dress costume. The Mexican outfit is traditional to them. It’s been in their culture for decades.’
A very resigned Nigel responded: ‘I do not know what the rules are Nella. I do not know.’
Yet the pair seemed to have now cleared the air as Nella continued: ‘It’s cool. I don’t have an issue with you.
‘Like I said to you a couple of days ago, you are always going to have your opinions and I’m always going to have my opinions and we can agree to disagree, but let’s just not be the best of buds, because clearly we’re just from two different sides of the world and you’ll never understand my issues and struggles.’
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Nigel said: ‘I’m worried about being accused of cultural appropriation, not as she took it that I was dismissive of it as a concept completely – but we’ve had a chat about it and that’s fine.’
In a previous row, Nella claimed that black people ‘don’t like’ Nigel.
She said to the former UKIP leader that he is also ‘anti-immigrant’ and ‘wants all them gone’.
She added: ‘I’m one of them’ – a nod to her birth in Belgium to Congolese parents before arriving in the UK in 2009.
Mr Farage then asked her: ‘Who told you that?’, to which Nella replied: ‘The internet’. Mr Farage exclaimed: ‘Oh, well there we are then it must be true’. Nella then said: ‘It must be! OK, but then why don’t black people like you?’
‘If you came with me through South London, you’d be astonished’, Farage hit back.
Former City broker Nigel led UKIP – the UK Independence Party – from 2006 until 2009 and again from 2010 to 2016.
