Natalie Bassingthwaighte has shared intimate details about the moment she got down on one knee to propose to her girlfriend Pip Loth.
The Australian singer, 50, proposed to Pip during a romantic outing at Niagara Falls in Canada earlier this month.
She told KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show she flew a poet out from New York to to help with the proposal.
‘I flew a lady in from New York who writes poetry on the spot. And so that was how I actually proposed. She was sitting at Niagara Falls with this little typewriter,’ Natalie said.
‘She normally asks you [about your love story] and then just writes a poem on the spot. I wanted it to be organic. So, she just made it up from what we said and what I told her, and it was just perfect.’
Natalie said Pip read the poem before she got down on one knee and popped the question.

‘It was pretty beautiful, actually,’ she added.
Natalie and Pip announced their engagement earlier this month with a very sweet Instagram video.
Natalie began the clip with footage of Canadian actor and singer Noah Reid on stage singing a cover of Simply The Best by Tina Turner.
He dedicated the song to Natalie and Pip, who had just gotten engaged hours earlier.
The footage then cut to the moment Natalie popped the question, with Pip first being handed a note from a woman sitting at a typewriter.
Natalie then got down on both knees, smiling and laughing with Pip as she showed her love the engagement ring she had purchased.
Pip happily said yes, with the couple then embracing with a passionate kiss as onlookers walked past.
‘Just a little casual proposal… it was me, I got proposed to!’ Pip said near the end of the video as she showed off her thick-banded silver ring.

Natalie captioned the heart-warming video with a number of emojis, including a rainbow and engagement ring, as she wrote: ‘So grateful.’
The news was also shared by K’DOR in Double Bay, who designed the engagement ring, posting a photo of the pair to Instagram.
Natalie’s famous friends flocked to the comments of the initial announcement to share their well wishes.
‘Congratulations,’ wrote Dannii Minogue.
‘Oh my stars. What a beautiful thing to see first thing in the day. Huge love to you both. Xxxxxxxxx,’ fellow Neighbours star Alan Fletcher added.

Natalie split with her former Rogue Traders bandmate Cameron McGlinchey in 2023 after 12 years of marriage.
She revealed her new relationship with Pip in April the following year.
Natalie shares two children—Harper, 14, and Hendrix, 11—with her former husband.
