Naomi Watts’ 18-Year-Old Son Sasha Heads to College in L.A.

Naomi Watts is officially the mom of a college student.

The New York resident, 56, who celebrated son Sasha’s 18th birthday just last month, seemed to find it difficult to send her firstborn out into the world.

‘Already balling (sic),’ the proud but sad mother wrote as she shared a photo of her young adult standing by the front door with all of his bags packed.

Watts buried her head in her six-foot-plus son’s shoulder with her arm firmly gripped around his waist.

She looked as relaxed as possible under the situation wearing a pair of long, wide leg jeans with an oversized tan jacket and a button down shirt. Sasha seemed calm in a loose fitting white T-shirt and light jeans.

Dad Liev Schreiber, 57, revealed the teenager will be studying at University Of Southern California in Los Angeles.

One of the family dogs, Izzy, seemed unsure about the occasion as she sat on one of the teen’s duffle bags.

Another sweet snap showed Sasha saying goodbye to sister Kai, 16, who followed her mom’s example and hid her face from the camera.

Watts shares both of her children with her ex-partner Schreiber.

The Ray Donovan actor gave his son a sweet sendoff on social media as well.

‘Starting to feel the pull,’ he wrote next a snap of the two standing together, his arm loving draped around his son’s shoulder.

‘Gonna miss my ride or die. Having said that, USC is gonna get one of the deepest, kindest, bravest and most beautiful boys I have ever known,’ the proud papa said.

Watts and Schreiber were together for 11 years, but went their separate ways in 2016, explaining ‘the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple.’

The next month, Schreiber married Taylor Neisen, in intimate ceremony at his house in Montauk. The couple welcomed their first child together, Hazel Bee, a month later.

After announcing the little one’s birth, Watts was one of the first to congratulate the new mom and dad. ‘We love baby Hazel!!’ she wrote on social media.

‘We’re parents together so we’ll be together for the rest of our lives no matter what and we’re very close,’ Schreiber told CBS This Morning shortly after their split. ‘Hopefully, that never changes and I don’t think it will.’
