Naga Munchetty has given an insight into her gruelling morning routine before she heads to work at BBC Breakfast.
The TV presenter and radio host, 49, has revealed she sets her ‘stupidly early’ alarm for 3:45am, to head into the BBC studios for 4:50am.
And even on days where she is able to sleep in later than usual, Naga – who goes to bed around 10:30pm – naturally wakes up at 5:45am and does a full gym workout.
If she’s not presenting BBC Breakfast, Naga is a presenter for BBC Radio 5 Monday to Wednesday.
Speaking to The Sunday Times Magazine, she said: ‘Three days a week I get up stupidly early. My first alarm is at 3.45 and I’m in the BBC Breakfast studio by 4.50. On radio days I wake up naturally at 5.45, but I’m a terrible prevaricator.

‘Monday to Wednesday I whack my dressing gown on, check the news sites and do some life admin before 45 minutes of running or weights. By 7.15 I’m home and in the shower.’
Naga also disclosed what her go-to home food comforts are after she wraps up work around mid-day.
She added: ‘My mum makes the best south Indian food. My freezer is filled with kidney beans curry, ground spinach sambar, rasam and fried green banana. I’ll warm it all up with fish fingers — it’s my comfort food.’
On weekends, Naga enjoys spending her time with friends, family and enjoying a round of golf after a sweaty gym session.
She also shared she never eats past 6pm and finishes off her day with a glass of wine and two squares of dark chocolate.
It comes after Naga stunned viewers with an X-rated quip as she guest hosted Have I Got News For You last year.
The broadcaster had a stint as the host of the programme in December 2023, joined by guest panellists Maisie Adam and Richard Osman.
As she kicked off the show’s Odd One Out round, Naga explained that four pictures would be shown, and teams would have to guess which one doesn’t fit.

The images were a map of Australia, footballer Mo Salah, King Charles’s curtains and an iceberg.
As Paul Merton buzzed in to answer, he said that the iceberg ‘floated away from all the other ice,’ adding: ‘Is it five times the size of Britain, or something like that?’
Stunned by the iceberg’s size, Maisie said: ‘What?’ while Naga noted: ‘It’s twice the size of Greater London.’
As the audience laughed at Paul’s mistake, he responded: ‘Are there other parts of Britain? You can only say that in front of a London audience, I wouldn’t say it in Sheffield.’
The presenter then hit back with her own savage comment, saying sarcastically: ‘It’s so unlike a man to exaggerate size, isn’t it?’
While Maisie burst into laughter, the audience applauded Naga’s cheeky comeback.
Paul hit back: ‘Well, to compare something to twice the size of Greater London, yes it’s quite rare,’ while Richard added: ‘Well, to compare something to twice the size of Greater London, yes it’s quite rare.’
