Myleene Klass: “I Don’t Care If People Don’t Like Me” After Cheating Claims

Myleene Klass has defiantly insisted she ‘doesn’t care if people don’t like her anymore’ in a powerful admission on her Instagram on Friday.

The former One Show presenter, 47, left fans reeling when she dropped the explosive claim her ex husband cheated on her with a female celebrity in a very honest chat with Paul C Brunson on his We Need To Talk podcast.

Myleene said she walked in on the moment ex Graham Quinn and the female were taking each other’s clothes off on the balcony of her own home. 

Refusing to name the woman, Myleene hinted that the person in question has built a career off a ‘family brand’ and clarified that it was before they had got married. 

As mystery continues to swirl around the celebrity in question, Myleene declared she doesn’t regret her honesty in the interview.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘”You should do it, it would be good for you, but be honest, everyone knows when people aren’t honest”.

‘My manager AFTER ‘We need to talk podcast’. I flew back from abroad to do this podcast. I’d heard a lot about @paulcbrunson and had seen the @needtotalk headlines.

‘As I’ve gotten older, more comfortable with being vulnerable, I’m drawn to things that stretch and challenge me.

‘I wasn’t prepared for how disarming Paul is and how he looks into your soul and pulls out the very core of what makes you tick.

‘I didn’t think he’d be able to do it. From the outside, what do we have in common? Maybe that was the challenge, to see what he had on me. Turns out, a lot.

‘We ran into the night, five hours of recording, (subsequently multiple lawyers on both sides listened back and reached for their fire blankets) and we actually REALLY got on.

‘The two of us in a room brought out raucous laughter, the kind where you throw your head back and ugly cackle, abject sorrow, shock and everything else in between.

‘My life has been played out in public for 26 years. I’ve lost relationships, been turned over (by men, not all men, but always men) and had to rebuild on more than one occasion. 

 

‘I’ve also won. I won my jungle crown, my MBE, my family, my place and my peace.

‘I don’t care if people like me anymore, I’m not the terrified 20 year old girl from Hear’say being pelted with chow mein on stage for trying to sing a few songs.

‘I’m no longer the girl who watched her life go up in smoke, fighting for everything I’d built from people who’d meticulously planned how to take it. 

‘I’ve been torn down by those who were meant to love me, I think I’ll be ok. In fact, I know I will. A mixed race girl, a neek from Norfolk, no one expected much (my school report proves this).

‘I learned to hustle, stand up for myself and leave the betrayals behind. Who knew being a Mum would be the making of me, as failing meant my children failing (including the ones I never got to hold) and that was never going to happen.’

Myleene first started going out with her Irish bodyguard in 2001 and they were together for 12 years until they announced their split in 2013. 

The mother-of-two explained: ‘I walked in on him with a famous person on my birthday on a balcony.’

According to the TV presenter, the pair tried to claim that it wasn’t what it looked like and she continued: ‘I’m in my house, it’s my party. They weren’t having sex, but they were unzipping each other.

 

‘“It’s not what you think”. But I’m like, “It is what I think”.

‘It’s the first thing they both said. I kicked everyone out of the party, including his mum and dad. They went back to Ireland and his dad said: “He doesn’t get it from me”.

‘I remember thinking that was quite a weird thing to say,’ she told the love expert.

Graham – with whom Myleene shares her two children Ava, 17, and 13-year-old Hero – tried to blame the incident on being drunk.

She admitted the whole ordeal was a ‘pretty big red flag’ but still went through with their wedding in October 2011.

Turning her thoughts towards the other woman, Myleene said: ‘I’ve made peace with that situation now, but for a long time, it was very difficult to see their life.

‘My life literally just broke apart very, very publicly and their life, they’ve managed to continue building a family brand on it. I have to take some accountability

‘Look, you know, first and foremost to my children. My children have asked enough questions and it’s never been a case of laying out my stall now.

‘It’s got to be as and when. But here’s the funny thing – school mums, people who just want to gossip, will go to your children before anybody else.’

Myleene previously recalled the twisted request the women Graham cheated on her with asked her.

Myleene said on Loose Women: ‘100%, I’ve been on the receiving of someone who cheated on me. I was extremely disturbed as was my family as was the ripple effect of people who have to live with those actions. 

‘Put it this way, one of the people that he cheated on me with asked to have a photo with me and I refused.

‘One of the people that he had an affair with or a relationship with just said “Can I have a photo with you?”

‘I said “No. I do not agree with what you stand for”. If I then put myself, If I align myself or have allegiance to you as a person, that photo is out there forever.

‘I don’t agree with women or men having their lives turned upside down with lies and deceit because you didn’t think it was that big of a crime.

‘You’re messing with peoples emotions and their lives. They have permanent repercussions.’

Myleene previously revealed she was ‘sobbing in the bath’ the night before her wedding to Graham.

The former Hear’Say popstar said ‘she knew it wasn’t right’ between her and her partner at the time but went through with things anyway.

Speaking on Loose Women, Myleene then admitted she knew that he was unfaithful ahead of their wedding day and said she realised she wanted a divorce three days into the marriage.

The singer revealed that she was told to leave him at the alter by her friends and said the night before the nuptials she was still deciding what to do.

Myleene said: ‘I was in the bath the night before I got married – which most of us know, didn’t end well, in fact it went so badly that the priest even offered to annul the wedding. It was that quick!

‘I was in the bath and I was just sobbing because something didn’t feel right, I just knew it wasn’t right. And my girlfriend, now my girlfriend of 18 years, at the time she just said, ‘The car is outside.’ Like Thelma and Louise, we could just go.’

‘At the time I didn’t feel I could go, I had two children, and I had this wedding, you know we had the cathedral and we had the priest and it was just everything was there.’ 

She then admitted she knew that he may have been unfaithful ahead of their wedding day.

‘I had a clue about the cheating and even his friend – it became a very crowded bathroom because his friend shimmied up onto the balcony because I wouldn’t open the door and he said ‘What are you doing?”.

Back in 2019 Myleene explosively detailed how she developed a dependence on alcohol during her divorce in 2013.

Speaking candidly to Kate Thornton and Tamzin Outhwaite on Yahoo’s White Wine Question Time podcast, she admitted her drinking would start before 11am and she would struggle without alcohol in five hour gaps.

The star spoke about the humiliation she felt following the divorce and how she was struggling financially.

Myleene wed Graham in an idyllic ceremony in October 2011, with just 16 guests in attendance, however their romance came to a crashing close six months after the wedding before they were granted a divorce two years later.

Having always been candid about the acrimonious nature of the split, in 2019 she opened up about the devastating impact the break-up had on her mental health.

The star, who is now happily in a relationship with Simon Motson, said: ‘I was doing breakfast TV and I went to get out the car and I thought, ‘I can’t’… I was right in the middle of the divorce…

‘And I opened the door, and I couldn’t get out the car. I couldn’t breathe. Finances were spiralling because I thought, ‘I’m going to lose everything”.

On the split, she said: ‘The humiliation, you’ve got people looking at you, blaming you without a clue as to what the f**k is going on…

‘Lauren (Laverne) came and visited me at 4 in the morning, that’s how low I was. I didn’t want it (divorce) to define me, but it did change me irrevocably. I’ve never ever been in the position where I’ve had to ask people for help.’

On her drinking, Myleene said: ‘I remember waking up and thinking it’s ok to have a drink at 11am, because I hadn’t had a drink in 5 hours’.

Myleene was thrown into financial peril after the split, as her reported £11million fortune was put in jeopardy as she refused a pre-nuptial agreement.

Speaking to the Mirror after the split, she said of Graham: ‘I married a convicted drug dealer and didn’t sign a prenup. What was I thinking? When I say that sentence aloud, I realise how stupid it was…

‘I just wish I had listened to my dad, my friends and everyone in the papers. Everyone could hear the alarm bells except me. I should have just opened my eyes.’

Despite her allegations, he took to Twitter to hit back saying: ‘Thankyou for once again slandering my name in the papers to promote yourself…

‘It’s frankly embracing and complete lies…@KlassMyleene. I’ve stayed quiet for three years now but enough is enough. Please explain to me how I took your money?

‘I lost so much money from our divorce and our house that we bought together. And further money from fighting you over letting me be a father to my kids whom I haven’t seen in over a year.. shameful…

‘One day I hope you will put the interests of your children first and let them see their father. Instead of focusing on what lies you can tell to boost your career.’
