Mrs Hinch overcomes grief

Mrs Hinch choked back tears as she made an emotional return to social media on Monday following the heartbreaking death of her father.

In May, the cleaning influencer announced that her dad Alan had died suddenly in his sleep on April 25, a month after he was hospitalised with respiratory issues.

In the months after, Mrs Hinch – real name Sophie Hinchcliffe – has taken a step back from social media, save for a couple of rare posts, as she tried to come to terms with her loss.

And taking to her Instagram stories this week, Mrs Hinch opened up to her 4.8million followers about her struggle to manage her ‘rollercoaster of grief’ in the wake of her father’s passing.

Speaking into the camera, she battled to keep her emotions in check as she told how her loss felt like an ‘out of body experience’, while also thanking her fans and husband for their support.

She said: ‘Hello everyone, how are you all? How are you all doing? I think this is the first time I have felt OK enough to sort of just come on here and chat.

‘I think anyone that’s sort of followed me for a long time or knows me and my family, knows that I’m very, very blessed to have spent most days with my dad.

‘And yeah I think anyone who’s lost a parent will know exactly what’s happening right now.’

As she fought back the tears, she went on: ‘I thought I’d experienced some s**t in the past, but this is a whole new world.

‘But I’m doing exactly what my dad would want me to do, keeping strong, keep going, look after my mum and the house and the boys.’

With her voice cracking, Mrs Hinch went on to thank her husband Jamie for his unwavering support during this very difficult time for her.

She said: ‘Jamie’s been an absolute… he’s just held my whole life together for the last few months, so thank you Jamie.

‘When you’ve been through something like this, it’s a bit like an out of body experience. The world looks different, feels different, smells different, just everything is different.

‘For those going through it or have been through it, I know you’ll know, I’m sending all my love and those that haven’t yet, just go and sit with your parents.’

The emotional influencer then concluded her video by saying: ‘See you when I see you everyone’ before giving a thumbs up.

Captioning her heartfelt video, Mrs Hinch wrote:  ‘I’m just trying to navigate the absolute rollercoaster of grief. But I wanted to say hello and thank you for so much kindness, support and understanding xx.’

As well as a video, the Instagram favourite also shared a carousel of family pictures to her grid as she explained how telling her son’s about their grandfather was ‘by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life.’

She said: ‘A catch up in pictures ❤️ Explaining to your children, that their loved one is never coming back, is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life

‘Life has certainly changed forever but as parents we find that fight to get up, to walk, talk and just try to smile through the rollercoaster that is grief. If you too are facing this right now I’m sending all my love

‘Seeing our Ron & Len smile literally pulls us through each day.’

The snaps included several sweets images of her sons sons Ronnie, four, and Lennie, two.

While another saw the star showing off a new tattoo featuring the handwriting of her late father.

‘A deep unimaginable pain I cannot put into words.

‘My loving Dad, Our boys beloved Grandad, Your workshop is locked up and I sleep with the key. I promise to keep your workshop dream going.

‘Until we meet and sing together again. Goodnight Dad My absolute king. Your Bubberloo.

‘Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.’

Sophie did not reveal her father’s cause of death in the heartfelt statement.
