Contestants on The Block faced another controversy on Wednesday’s episode when tradies walked off the show over an unpaid bill from a team.
The dramatic exit came after Blockheads Courtney, 32, and Grant, 29, withheld complete payment over shower screens because they had issues with the work.
Courtney said that two invoices out of three were paid out but the couple were withholding the final payment until the job was ‘rectified’.
During an on camera interview, the fan favourite said that the pair were in dispute with the Philip Island company because they found ‘problems’ with the glass used in the screens.
The issue has now escalated with other Blockheads reporting that the show’s Phillip Island tradies had fears about getting paid on time.
At one point during the episode hosts Scott Cam and Shelly Craft were confronted with the unsettling rumours by Blockheads Ricky and Haydn.
The popular team said their landscaper had unexpectedly quit ahead of the job because they were frightened of ‘not getting paid’.
‘He brought up the fact that The Block has a reputation of not paying their bills. ‘That’s what’s going around on the island,’ Ricky said.

‘That’s not cool,’ Shelley said, while Cam added: ‘We’ve got to get rid of that reputation in town … I’m not sure how we do that.’
It comes after The Block star Charlotte has hit back at rumours there is a romance brewing between her and builder Jack.
Charlotte and her sister Maddie recruited Jack, a carpenter who works for their real-life house-flipping business, to help them in the competition.

The pair have been relying on the helpful tradie for companionship more and more as they struggle to break the ice with the other teams.
On Tuesday’s episode, producers fanned the flames of a potential romance by airing a ‘loved-up’ montage of Charlotte and Jack together on the set to the tune of the iconic Foreigner ballad I Want To Know What Love Is.
Sitting on the couch with Maddy, a producer asked Charlotte point blank if there was anything romantic between the pair.
‘Let me make this so clear, there is zero romance between me and Jack,’ she replied.
‘You can squish that one.’
The producer continued unabated in his quest to unearth a new love, telling the reality star that there was chemistry between her and Jack.
‘Well, there is nothing,’ Charlotte replied matter-of-factly.
‘We’re not each other’s type and nothing has ever happened between us romantically.’
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Charlotte doubled down on the plutonic nature of her relationship with Jack.
‘Just to be clear, there is zero romance between Jack and I,’ Charlotte reiterated.
‘We’ve known each other as close friends for like, four years, and nothing has ever happened. Nothing will ever happen.
‘He’s like our brother, so no, definitely not.’

Maddy and Charlotte recently broke their silence on the ‘bullying’ they received on the show from fellow contestants.
The Sydney sisters entered into the heated 20th season of the renovation competition earlier this month, after couple Paige Beechey and Jesse Maguire threw down their tools.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle on Tuesday, Maddy said she’s found watching the season quite difficult to watch because of how she and her sister were treated by the other contestants.
‘Sunday night’s episode made me really upset,’ Maddy told the publication. ‘I was like, “I can’t watch this.”
‘These people are being cruel to us and I don’t really understand why.’

The pair’s competitors were less than impressed with their Sunday night guest bathroom reveal, calling the room ‘safe’ and ‘vanilla.’
Rivals Kylie and Brad Baker were fuming and went so far as to not offer any applause when the duo won the challenge.
However, the final edit also showed Kylie and Brad telling cameras that the competition was ‘rigged’ because the sisters were ‘the most hated people on The Block.’
‘We didn’t do anything to them to deserve that behaviour,’ Maddy continued as she broke her silence this week after the events aired.
