Montana Brown reveals she is ‘so glad to stop’ breastfeeding daughter, 12 months, after being left with poor mental health from ‘giving every inch of herself to her babies’

Montana Brown has revealed she is ending her breastfeeding journey.

The Love Island star is mother to Jude, two, and Miley, who turns one next month, with her fiancé Mark O’Connor and often chronicles her parenting online.

On Tuesday, she shared a lengthy post revealing she was stopping breastfeeding Miley, as feeding and co-sleeping had left her ‘irritable, impatient and angry’ while suffering poor mental health due to ‘not sleeping in three years’.

In a post over the weekend, Montana showcased her incredible figure in a bikini and discussed how she is ‘committed to feeling her best’.

In her post regarding priorising herself, she wrote: ‘I feel like I’ve co-slept for 3 years, breast fed and just given every damn inch of myself to those babies and it has felt really nice to spend more time to focus on personal goals.’

In the post, Montana wrote: ‘How I really feel about stopping breastfeeding… Completely Relieved! I’m going to be honest, I have really not enjoyed breastfeeding the last 4 months…

‘I have persisted because I know it’s good for Miley and we’ve had things planned which I know it would be more convenient to continue…

‘It’s a truly beautiful and natural thing which I’m extremely grateful to be able to have done for both my children HOWEVER personally it has ALWAYS come at a cost of my mental health…

‘I think because I’ve breastfed AND coslept I have always reactively fed with little routine because I do not like the idea of scheduled feeding…

‘I’ve not slept properly in 3 years… because I breastfed Jude for 10 months and Miley nearly a year and the lack of sleep has made me feel like an insane person…

‘More irritable, less patience, more anger. I just want to say here and now, there is no award for breastfeeding the longest, I have really struggled with my sleep on both occasions due to breastfeeding through the night…

‘So if you’re a mum struggling breastfeeding please know it is ok to stop and prioritise yourself if it’s making you unhappy. Happy mum, happy baby. I’m so glad I’m done. Thank you and goodnight.’

‘Mums, don’t feel guilty you have brought humans into this earth and you deserve some time to focus on yourself’.

Last week, Montana Brown boasted that her son Jude, who is two and a half, had only just had his ‘first proper screen time’ – before fans claimed she had actually tripped up by admitting he’d previously actually watched YouTube.

In a recent TikTok entitled: ‘First proper screen time on the flight at 2.5 years old’ she spoke about a long-haul family flight.

She said: ‘Guys I am marking this moment. We had an eight and a half hour flight to go away for Christmas and Jude actually watched his first film.

‘Well… he watched it for about 10 minutes, didn’t put on his headphones and then asked me ‘can I have the next song’, so I think he just thought it was like a song with a video…

‘As sometimes he loves music from The Sound of Music or sometimes I will get a YouTube clip and he will watch the song when they are doing the yodeling.

‘So he didn’t really get the concept of it but it’s the first time we actually let them do that and it was a fun little experiment, he wasn’t too fussed by it which is good – so just thought I’d be open and honest about that right now.’

Her fans were quick to point out that she had mentioned him watching YouTube in her video as they penned: ‘Oh, so he does have screen time then.’,

Another said: ‘So…he watches YouTube?’, to which she attempted to clarify things by replying: ‘Only once when I was preggo with norovirus for 2 weeks.’

Other added: ‘Slipped up that he watches you tube… Soooo when it suits.’
