It has been claimed that Monica Garcia’s ex-husband Mike Fowler was arrested for slapping her in March 2021.
According to police documents obtained by the US Sun, Fowler, 45, was taken into custody for domestic violence assault, domestic violence in the presence of a child and interruption of a communication device.
At the time of the incident, the 40-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newcomer called police to their home and said her then-husband ‘hit her’ and that she was ‘hiding in a bedroom.’
The police report also stated that as she spoke to law enforcement via her Apple watch, a female could be heard ‘yelling for him to get away from her.’
Then, in person, she told officers she was ‘afraid of Michael and what he would do if she disobeyed him.’

The physical attack reportedly followed an argument over ‘some of the people that she had been associating with.’
The argument later intensified ‘and that’s when he slapped her across the face,’ the official document started.
It was also explained that the conflict took place in front of one of Monica’s teenage kids.
Garcia and Fowler share three daughters — Jaidyn, 13, West, 7, and Kendall, 6, as well as Monica’s daughter Bri from a past relationship.
Fowler was locked up in a county jail for multiple days before pleading guilty to his assault charges.
It was reported that he was sentenced to on year of probation and fined $1,070.

In a caption to her 407,000 followers, she wrote, ‘I haven’t wanted to post about this because I already know what the comment section is going to say and how nasty people can be and have been on my page.’

She explained, ‘My ex was arrested a couple of times for domestic violence on me in front of our girls and violations of protective orders.’
It was added: ‘I had hoped to talk about it on the show to help better explain why things are the way they are in my life currently. To bring awareness to women dealing with this issue and to help them see that they are not alone.’
