Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is the long-awaited follow-up to the 1988 classic Beetlejuice, following a dead couple (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) who contacts the title ‘bio-exorcist’ (Michael Keaton) to scare away a new family that moved into their home.
While the film was a modest box office hit ($74.7 million from a $15 million budget), it developed a cult following over the years.
Now Michael is returning alongside Catherine O’Hara’s Delia Deetz and Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz, with Jenna Ortega playing Lydia’s daughter Astrid.
Justin plays a character named Rory, while William Dafoe plays a ghost detective named Wolf Jackson and Bellucci plays Beetlejuice’s wife.
Back in February in an interview (via People) for his dramatic thriller Knox Goes Away (which he stars in and directs), arriving in theaters March 15, Michael revealed he had a blast on set.
‘It’s the most fun I’ve had on set in a long time. On one hand, you’d go, “Well, of course it’s the most fun. It looks like fun.” As you know, it doesn’t always work like that,’ Michael said.
‘We thought, “You got to get this right. Otherwise, just don’t do it. Let’s just go on with our lives and do other things.”‘
‘So I was hesitant and cautious, and he was probably equally as hesitant and cautious over all these years,’ he added.
