Welcome to The Group Chat with Lucy Manly, where Australia’s most-trusted society insider shares the hottest gossip BEFORE it makes the news.
No paparazzi!
Monte Carlo is a rich man’s playground.
But I hear one wealthy Australian was keen to have footage of his night out in Monaco scrubbed off the internet after he was filmed in the street with a pair of young women.
A clip surfaced online showing the high-profile man casually dressed and deep in conversation with the two lovely ladies, who were both clad in evening gowns.

A high-profile Australian man (centre) was filmed chatting to two women on the streets of Monaco in footage he later allegedly spent ‘an arm and a leg’ to have deleted
In the video, he touched one of their shoulders before stepping away to take a phone call. Moments later, he had both arms draped around the women.
The Group Chat makes no suggestion of impropriety and it would appear the trio were just friends enjoying a night out and nothing more.
However, some got the wrong end of the stick when the vision was uploaded by a TikTok account that documents the extravagant lives of Monaco residents.
Added to the background of the clip was a remix of an ABBA song.
I am reliably informed the man spent ‘an arm and a leg’ to get the video removed – presumably he did not want anyone getting the wrong impression.
It’s unclear how many times the footage was viewed before it was deleted, but similar clips on the TikTok account have been watched by millions.
Despite no longer being on the internet, a screen recording of the clip lives on among private WhatsApp groups, which is how it was passed on to me.
Given the lengths this figure will go to protect his image, The Group Chat has chosen peace this week and decided not to name or picture him.

Two weddings is better than one
Oh, to be a Melbourne heiress.
Bella Geminder, the granddaughter of the late Visy chairman Richard Pratt and the daughter of billionaire packaging magnates Raphael and Fiona Geminder, has tied the knot for the second time in a matter of months.
Because why have one wedding when you can have two?
Bella and her husband Jose Falk said ‘I do’ in late January in front of 500 guests at her family’s estate in Kew – and now they are in the middle of hosting a follow-up three-day-extravaganza overlooking one of the most beautiful destinations on Earth: Ravello, Italy.
The events kicked off on Thursday with a ‘la dolce vita’-themed welcome dinner held at a surprise location.
By the time you read this, the wedding itself – at the Villa Cimbrone, an historic five-star hotel on the Amalfi Coast – will most likely be in full swing.

Instagram stories from an attendee caught the married couple dancing as guests milled around
There was no shortage of Dolce & Gabbana gowns on day one, I am told.
It was all very reminiscent of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker‘s Portofino wedding in 2022.
I hear members of the prominent Fox, Gandel and Smorgon families flew in, as did the bride’s aunt Heloise Pratt and her rock star boyfriend Jon Stevens, formerly of INXS.
Word is still out on whether her uncle, U.S.-based Visy executive chairman Anthony Pratt, attended. If so, I hope he packed sunscreen!
Hemmes’ knees-up after baby’s arrival

Sydney bar tsar Justin Hemmes invited his mates over few drinks at his inner-city bolthole to celebrate the arrival of his first child with model girlfriend Madeline Holtznagel, son Jaeger

The knees-up was described as the ‘male equivalent of a baby shower’. (Justin and Madeline are pictured at a Merivale staff party in January 2023)
Most new dads amble down to their local boozer to celebrate the birth of a newborn child with a solitary pint. Not if you’re hospitality mogul Justin Hemmes.
The Sydney bar tsar, who welcomed his third child with model girlfriend Madeline Holtznagel earlier this month, invited his tight-knit group of mates to ‘wet baby Jaeger‘s head’ by having a few drinks at his inner-city bolthole.
The knees-up was described as the ‘male equivalent of a baby shower’.
Jaeger is Madeline’s first child with the billionaire Merivale CEO, 52. He shares two daughters, Alexa, nine, and Saachi, seven, with his former partner Kate Fowler.
