Mollie King has raised in excess of £100,000 as she reaches the end of day two of her five day Pedal Power charity bike ride in aid of Red Nose Day.
On Tuesday, the Radio 1 DJ, 36, braved torrential rain and embarked on the next 100k of her 500k challenge, where she was joined by her co-star Charlie Hedges.
During an appearance on Dean and Vicky’s radio show, Charlie admitted that Mollie was ‘seriously struggling’ and ‘absolutely shattered’ two days into the challenge.
Revealing what Mollie had told her off-camera, she recalled the mother of one saying: ‘Do you know what I’ve had it, I’m absolutely shattered.’
Charlie continued: ‘Even tho she still looks beautiful, she looks shattered. She looks ‘like she’s hit her limit already. It’s been a tough day.

‘I think we just need to get her through today, I think she’s seriously struggling. That amount of money we told her is a big deal to her and is spurring her on, but in my heart knowing Mollie, we really need to get her to the end of this day.
‘The only way to do that, is for us to stop talking rubbish and for everyone to pull together and get this money in. This is the only way to get her through.
‘What’s going to help her is the reason she’s doing it in the first place and that is to raise a heck of a lot of money.’
Throughout the week, Mollie will be making her way to Hull, the hometown of her late father, who passed away three months after being diagnosed with a tumour.
Mollie departed Towcester at 8am, working her way towards the quaint market town of Burton-upon-Trent where she will disembark and recover for the evening.
The nation are rallying around Mollie, and as of this morning, the star has raised in excess of £100,000 for Comic Relief since beginning her challenge.
The remarkable amount raised will no doubt give Mollie a much needed boost as she contends with aching muscles, tough weather conditions and the ever changing terrain during her solo cycling challenge.
Mollie said: ‘This challenge has been tough, part of my brain is telling me, Mollie we need to get off here and walk and I’m like NO, we are cycling the whole way! I can feel it in my body.

‘My legs are aching and my back’s sore, there’s still such a long way to go. Today has been particularly tough, we’ve had diagonal rain and I’m being sprayed by lorries and vans along the road, I’m soaking from head to toe.
‘Yesterday was crazy, the adrenaline from the start line kept me going, but it wasn’t an easy ride. It took me just under 11 hours to get to Towcester, but we estimated it would take eight. When I finished the journey, it was pitch black, but to see people’s faces and see them smiling, was just what I needed’.
Mollie added: ‘Raising over £100k so far is an amazing achievement, I can’t quite believe it. Every donation, and even the tooting horns and waving means so much. It brings it all back to why I am doing this and I am so thankful to everyone who is supporting’.
On Tuesday, Mollie passed through: Towcester, Weedon, Daventry, Barby, Rugby, Newbold-on-Avon, Harborough Parva, Harborough Magna, Pailton, Burbage, Stoke Goulding, Dadlington, Market Bosworth…
Barton in the Beans, Odstone, Newton Burgoland, Measham, Oakthorp, Donisthorp, Moira, Woodville, and finish in Burton-upon-Trent.
On her journey, Mollie will pass through villages, towns and cities where Comic Relief funded projects are providing essential support to people who need it most.
Mollie King has made a shocking revelation and explained why her fiancé Stuart Broad was surprised ahead of her 500km cycling challenge for Comic Relief
It comes after Mollie revealed she has never actually cycled on the road before, but that didn’t stop her embarking on the momentous challenge.
The star set off on Monday and speaking to The Mirror ahead of the challenge she admitted Stuart was baffled at her decision.
‘When I first said I was doing this he was in shock and said, “You are what?” He knows I’m not a cyclist. So he’s been really supportive.
‘He’s been right behind me and he actually went out to get himself a bike so he could train with me out on the roads because I never cycled on the road. So he’s very protective.’
Mollie also admitted there is some friendly competition between her and the former cricket player, as she teased: ‘I’d been trying to train for about six weeks and the first time we went out, within about 10 minutes he was flying past me.
‘I was not amused. He’s just got it. I can see why he’s the athlete of the family.’

‘I’ve been so nervous over the last few days, but I can’t wait to get going and I know that I have the Radio 1 listeners behind me as well as my amazing friends and family.
Knowing that this journey will make such a difference to so many people will help keep me going to that finish line’.
She added: ‘I unexpectedly lost my dad, just over a year ago, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with a brain tumour and we lost him just three-months later.
‘So, the reason for me doing this challenge is because I want to support people who are struggling, people who are hurting. Just anything at all, if I can possibly raise money then that is what I am doing this for.’
Matt Edmondson, Radio 1 presenter and Mollie’s co-host said: ‘I’ll be travelling alongside Mollie, encouraging her when times get tough and providing all the latest updates from the road.’
He continued: ‘This week, she’s going to be spreading her magnetic energy throughout the UK, in a way that only Mollie can do.
‘She really wants to help people and her reason for this is so close to her heart. To set off on this challenge a year after losing her dad is extraordinary, she wants to raise money and will need our support and motivation to get her all the way to Hull’.
Greg James added: ‘Mollie will have a love affair with this bike, she’ll want to throw it into a ditch but will guard it with her life at the same time! It’s going to be a life changing experience in the most positive way.
‘My main advice is to take it all in. There are so many people supporting Mollie and we are all behind her on this epic adventure.’
