Miranda Kerr exuded her trademark elegance and style at the  on Monday. 

The Sydney-born model kept her look in line with the event's theme, Fashion is Art, stepping out in an all-white ensemble that mixed structured tailoring with couture detailing.

Miranda, 43, wowed in a floor-length design that featured a structured peplum bodice. 

The piece was heavily detailed with textured fabric work, including 3D floral appliqués and fringe elements throughout the design, while a halter neckline completed the look, finished with floral detailing.

She paired the outfit with crystal-embellished heels, which were only briefly visible beneath the flowing hemline.

Meanwhile, Miranda's hair was styled in a sleek updo, while her makeup remained classic and polished, with defined brows and a luminous base.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, also known as the Met Gala, falls on the first Monday in May every year.

The dress code calls on the A-list attendees to explore how designers use the human body as a blank canvas.

Leading the charge is a powerhouse trio of co-chairs, with Beyonce, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams joining forces with Vogue's global editorial director, Anna Wintour, to oversee fashion's biggest night. 

It's the first time tennis superstar Williams has co-chaired the gala. 

Kidman previously co-chaired the star-studded event in 2003 as well as 2005, and Beyonce was an honorary chair in 2013.

The New York City museum will pair historical and contemporary garments from the Costume Institute for the exhibition, which will be loosely divided into three categories, including the classical and the nude body, aging and pregnant bodies, and the anatomical body.
