Minnie Driver put on an effortlessly chic display with Samantha Morton at a West Hollywood screening of their series The Serpent Queen on Tuesday.

Elizabeth I actress Minnie, 54, wore a sleek off-shoulder black dress and accessorised with silver rings and drop earrings.

Her dress was form-fitting at the waist and loose towards the bottom and she finished her look with heeled black sandals.

Samantha, 47, looked great in a warm grey oversized suit with high-waisted trousers and paired with a plain white T-shirt.

Minnie affectionately held onto the arm of Samantha, who leads the American historical drama.

Samantha portrays 16th century figure Catherine de’ Medici, Queen of France, and the series follows her life.

Catherine married into the French Valois court at 14 expected to bring in a fortune in dowry and produce heirs.

Despite many challenges, a lifetime of clever political maneuvering allows her to rule France as queen for 30 years.

The Serpent Queen premiered on American network Starz in 2022 and its second series begins on Friday.

Minnie makes her debut in this series, portraying Elizabeth I, Queen Of England and Ireland, though the two Queens never met.

At the screening, Minnie and Samantha flank Erwin Stoff who is a executive producer on the show.

Moving to the stage, the women sit down with Clarissa Cruz – an executive editor and Entertainment Weekly – to discuss the new series.

The second series of The Serpent Queen begins airing on Starz on Friday and will have eight episodes.

Earlier in July, Minnie opened up about a past, and very high-profile, relationship.

The British actress — who also recently opened up about sexism in Hollywood — explained that she dodged a bullet by not marrying her ex-fiancé Josh Brolin, 56.

Minnie – who has only been engaged once, to Josh Brolin – told The Sunday Times that if she had gone on to get married, she thinks it would have been the ‘biggest mistake’ of her life.

The pair announced their intentions to marry in 2001, but the nuptials were called off just five months later.

The Ella Enchanted star explained that her lack of desire to marry was because her parents never married – because her father was unfaithful.

Minnie explained: ‘If I look at my history, what it did was make me want to be married so much and then choose men who were so not the right men to be married to.

‘So, I would carry on longing to be married and to have that conservative version [of a relationship], find men who had no interest in that, and then if one did, run a mile.’

‘But now I’m with someone who doesn’t want to get married but who is the most devoted, loving, extraordinary
Everything I could have wanted in my childhood idea of a husband, he actually is.’

The British actress is dating her longtime love, American director Addison O’Dea, 45, who she was first linked to in 2019.

She shares son Henry, 15, with television writer and producer ex Timothy J. Lea, 64. She and the filmmaker met at a Los Angeles party and immediately hit it off.

Minnie also romanced actor Matt Damon – who famously upset her by moving on very quickly and publicly – after they met filming 1997 film Good Will Hunting.
