Mindy changed out of the silver sequin dress she wore to the Academy Awards and instead donned a strapless, glittering gold gown for the VF bash.
Novak looked dapper in a classic black suit with a white shirt and black tie.
The two actors, both 45, worked together on The Office and The Mindy Project.
The pair dated on and off from 2004 to 2007, and although they have publicly insisted their bond is now platonic, rumors have been swirling about their equation for years.

Sweeping her hair back into a long, low ponytail, the The Office alum highlighted her unmistakable features with makeup for her glamorous night on the town.
Mindy is mother to Katherine, seven, Spencer, four, and Anne, one, but has been assiduously private about who fathered her children.

Anora, Sean Baker’s rollicking Palme d’Or winner from last year’s Cannes Film Festival, was the night’s big winner.
The film won Best Original Screenplay, Best Director, Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Film Editing and Best Supporting Actor.
Anora won best picture at both the Directors Guild Of America Awards and the Producers Guild Of America Awards, both of which are regarded as bellwethers for the Oscars, particularly taken together.
Mikey Madison took home the best actress award for her role as a New York stripper, and Russian actor Yura Borisov won best supporting actor.
Of Anora’s five wins, Baker took home three of them for himself.
Adien Brody took home the statuette for Best Actor for his work in The Brutalist.
Brody plays a Hungarian Jewish Holocaust survivor working as an architect in postwar America.
