Long-time friends Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak grabbed dinner Wednesday at the San Vicente Bungalows, a private members-only club in West Hollywood.
The former Office stars, whose close friendship and romantic past have captivated fans for years, looked relaxed as they stepped outside together.
Mindy, 44, smiled as she followed B.J. outside of the luxe hotspot.
She layered against the crisp fall air in an edgy black leather jacket, cropped jeans, with a lace top worn under her coat.
Her short, shoulder-length hair was worn down, and her look was dressed up with a gold chain necklace and chunky hoop earrings.

B.J. looked smart in a black jacket, matching top, and tan slacks. He slipped his feet into white sneakers and appeared to be carrying his keys in hand.
Mindy and B.J. have remained close friends after dating off-on from 2005 to 2013.
The duo were actors and writers on The Office, where they played love interests Kelly Kapoor and Ryan Howards.
B.J. presented Kaling with the Norman Lear Achievement Award at the Producers Guild Awards earlier this year, where he talked about their relationship and time working as writers.
‘We were in love with each other, and we were reckless idiots, and the two of us would argue about all of these things forever [in the writers’ room],’ he said.
He said their relationship was ‘tumultuous, romantic, toxic, boundary-less mess’, a trait noticed by producers who proposed they ‘have scenes together’ as they were ‘pretty funny.’
Once she appeared on stage to accept the award, Mindy said of B.J.: ‘He’s remained my closest friend throughout my entire career. He’s seen all the ups and downs, and it just means the world to me.’
‘I am so lucky that my favorite writer is also my best friend. I love you.’

Mindy and B.J. poked fun of their ‘insanely complicated relationship’ last year when they took the stage at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards to present the award for Best Writing in a Limited Series.
‘And to all the nominees, we just want to say, ”Congratulations, you lazy sons of bitches.” How are you getting away with it?,’ Mindy joked.
‘Eight episodes?,’ B.J. said.
‘We came up during network sitcoms, 22 episodes a year,’ Mindy said.

‘And that show, that would take up your whole life. No time for other projects,’ B.J. continued.
‘No time for a social life. You had no choice but to form insanely complicated relationships with your co-stars,’ Mindy quipped.
‘That’s right,’ B.J. agreed before they announced that Mike White had won for his work on The White Lotus.
B.J. is also the godfather to Mindy’s two children, Katherine Swati, five, and Spencer Avu, three.
Last year, she appeared to dispel rumors that Novak is the father of her two children during an interview with Marie Claire. When asked about the gossip , she replied: ‘It doesn’t bother me.’
Mindy continued: ‘He’s the godparent to both my kids — and they have such a great relationship — and so far [the speculation hasn’t] affected my happiness at all, it hasn’t affected my kids or BJ.’
She added: ‘If that’s what is going to be titillating to people, I’ll take it.’
