Love Island winners Mimii Ngulube and Josh Sunday Oyinsan have made their first TV appearance together since making history as the first-ever black couple to win the ITV2 show.
Mimii, 24, and Josh, 29, were crowned the winners of Love Island series 11 last month and took home the £50,000 cash prize.
And now, the couple have made their first TV appearance together to discuss their experience in the villa, reflecting on their show stunt on Friday’s Lorraine.
Revealing that they weren’t expecting to win, Josh joked: ‘No, I feel like you could tell by my reaction. It’s a meme now.’
Mimii then confessed to Lorraine that it feels so good to be home and around familiar faces as she claimed going on the show was the ‘best thing I ever did for myself’.

And now, the couple have made their first TV appearance as they appeared on Lorraine on Friday to discuss their time in the villa
She said: ‘It’s so good to be home, around familiar faces, embracing everything. It was a long time but we learned so much about ourselves and each other. Best thing I ever did for myself.’
Prior to Josh, Mimii and Ayo Odukoya, 25, were previously coupled up, however, Ayo’s head was turned during the annual Casa Amor recoupling and he ditched her for Jessica Spencer, 25, leaving Mimii as the only single girl in the villa.
Mimii admitted to Lorraine that although the situation during Casa Amor ‘wasn’t nice’ for her she confessed that everything ‘worked out in the end’.
She said: ‘At the time it wasn’t nice, it was hard.’
‘I stayed true to myself and I’m glad I did. I feel like what needed to happen happened and it worked out in the end because me and Josh are good now. Everything happens for a reason.’
During the interview, Lorraine asked Josh if he always knew it was Mimii for him to which he sweetly responded with: ‘Yes. When I first met her I was like yes, there’s definitely something here.’
During Mimii’s time at the beginning of the show, she built up a bond with Joey Essex, 34, however, in the lead-up to the final there were a series of clashes between the couple and Joey.
However, the star revealed to Lorraine that Joey has now apologised to them both off-camera after viewers complained to Ofcom over what they perceived to be bullying behaviour.

Revealing there were no hard feelings and the hatchet has been well and truly buried, Josh said: ‘When I first came in me and Joey got on really well.’
‘Obviously, everyone saw what happened with me and him, the arguments.’
‘I wish it went a bit different with it, to be honest, but we came out of there with no hard feelings for Joey and we wish him the best with Jessy and we hope that they find what they are looking for together.’
Mimii added: ‘In the environment we were in it was quite intense. In there, everyone knows everyone’s business.’
‘I’m glad it was left in the villa and he apologised and I’m not one to keep holding a grudge or anything like that. We wish each other well.’
The couple’s appearance on Lorraine comes after they admitted they have been left both ‘proud and overwhelmed’ by their historic win.
Last week, the couple became the first black couple to win the ITV2 show since the rebooted version of the series began in 2015.
Both were left gobsmacked when host Maya Jama, 29, announced their names during the live final.

Following the result Mimii said: ‘I’m so shocked about it. It’s nice. Hopefully, it will set the pace for more diverse representation.’
‘It’s overwhelming, but in the best possible way.’
Agreeing Josh added: ‘I definitely feel proud. To be able to add a little bit to help balance the scales, if it means greater diverse representation, that is great. We are just happy to write history.’
The couple were in the final with Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, Matilda Draper and Sean Stone and Jessica Spencer and Ayo Odukoya.
Jessica and Ayo finished in fourth place while Matilda and Sean were awarded third position in the reality show competition.
Nicole and Ciaran were the runners-up in the final, as viewers ultimately voted to crown Mimii and Josh as their winners.
