It was her first Mother’s Day as a single parent, following the collapse of her seven-year marriage to in February.

And as a self-proclaimed ‘mum-fluencer’, it was important for - who rose to fame on show  – to engage with her 1.3million Instagram followers about taking on motherhood alone.

She posted pictures with her daughters Sienna, six, and Aurelia, five, online - writing in the caption that ‘motherhood isn’t always perfect’.

Millie added: ‘You don’t fully understand what your mum went through until you experience it yourself.’

Since her eldest daughter's birth in 2020, Millie’s personal brand has revolved around raising children while ‘putting yourself first’.

Her content shows her pursuing a glamorous lifestyle of regularly going to the gym, having her make-up done and attending premieres, while seemingly looking after her children on her own. Since 2022, all mention of hired help on her social media has gone quiet.

And in a recent Instagram post, she said: ‘I forgot what it felt like to do something just for me, I used to think putting myself first made me a bad mum. I know now it makes me a better person.’

But insiders close to Millie tell me the picture she paints of raising her children independently fails to reflect what is really going on.

For behind the perfectly curated pictures of her solo-parenting stands a ‘content creator nanny’, I can reveal.

Millie Mackintosh has become a so-called 'mum-fluencer' after starring on Made In Chelsea

This year was her first Mother's Day as a single parent after splitting up from her husband

Insiders close to the former party girl explain: ‘The real reason she can “prioritise me” is that she has a nanny. It’s not entirely truthful for the mothers who follow her, who might not have help.

‘Not only is the nanny’s role to look after children, but also to take Instagram pictures of them so Millie can use it for content on her feed. She’s a “content creator nanny”.

‘But the nanny cannot be in pictures at all costs.'

Millie’s representatives have denied this, insisting all such pictures are taken by friends and family members.

Insiders say ‘it’s completely fine to hire help with childcare’.

The revelation of her secret ‘content creator nanny’ comes after the star’s ‘difficult year’, having announced her split from fellow reality TV star Taylor in February.

Rifts in their marriage reportedly stemmed from Millie’s admission that she had sexual feelings towards women last May, having revealed she used to ‘drunkenly snog girls’ at the height of her battle with alcohol.

Sources close to the couple said Millie’s realisations about her sexuality led to a ‘widening gap’ in her marriage to Taylor, who left their family home – a Victorian house in Chelsea – this year. The couple insisted they were ‘committed to co-parenting’ their daughters and ‘keeping everything stable’.

They started dating more than two decades ago while starring on Made In Chelsea, and their relationship has been nothing short of tumultuous.

During a dinner party in the series two finale, which aired in 2011, Millie famously accused Taylor of cheating on her with her best friend and co-star, Rosie Fortescue, in a bombshell toast.

They split after the row and Millie went on to marry the rapper Professor Green in 2013, celebrating with a lavish wedding in Babington House in Somerset. But their marriage broke down after two years, with Millie describing it as ‘toxic’.

She later admitted that she knew that the relationship ‘wasn’t right but I was too scared to call it off because of the shame of letting everyone down.

‘We both had our own struggles. And it was actually quite toxic.’

They finalised their divorce in 2016, in the same week she decided to publicly announce she was back with Taylor.

The pair got engaged on the Greek island of Mykonos the following year and tied the knot in Sussex in June 2018. She then gave birth to Sienna in 2020 and Aurelia the following year.

When Aurelia was born, she said she hired a night nanny to help a few nights a week.

And in a Q&A on Instagram after Sienna was born, she said: ‘After my C-section, I’ve been told not to lift Sienna for six weeks so have someone around to help has been essential.

‘I have a wonderful daytime nanny and have also been using a night nanny a few nights a week to catch up on some sleep, which has been a big help.

‘Hugo had two weeks of paternity leave and my mum and close friends have been a big support too.’

But since then, Millie has made no reference to a nanny on her social media and it’s unlikely that her loyal followers would be aware of her candid interview.

Instead, her fans see a perfect Instagram pledging ‘Motherhood, Wellness, Fashion, Beauty’ – things she claims to juggle all on her own.

A spokesman for Millie said: 'Millie has always been very open about having support with childcare. She has spoken about it in numerous interviews and on her social media. Like most working parents she sometimes needs help with her children due to her work commitments. However, given the flexibility of her work she's very fortunate that she only occasionally needs this. This support has no involvement in her social media accounts and never has.'
