Miley Cyrus is REBUFFED by Heated Rivalry star after she revealed she wanted to write song for the show

Heated Rivalry actor François Arnaud has responded to Miley Cyrus after she said she was interested in writing a song for season two of his hit HBO series.

Cyrus, 33, recently admitted she has not watched the six-episode hockey romance-drama, but noted about recording music for it: ‘I’m so in.’

She made the statement during a red carpet interview with Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday night, telling journalist Marc Malkin: ‘Book me! Get me booked.’

Arnaud issued a sharp response to the pop star the following night at the Critics Choice Awards.

He pointed out to Variety: ‘But she hasn’t even watched the show. She should watch the show first. Miley, watch the damn show.’

The 40-year-old Canadian star then added, ‘I think we might get a little bigger budget for Season 2 but I don’t know if we have a Miley budget.’

Arnaud then quipped, ‘I think if she sees the show, she might give us a discount.’

His character Scott Hunter has a steamy and heartfelt romance with actor Robbie Graham-Kuntz’s Kip on the wildly popular show.

Heated Rivalry’s main roles — Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander — are played by Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams respectively.

The hot and heavy scripted series is based on the romance novel of the same name by Rachel Reid.

Rumors previously swirled that the former Hannah Montana star was a fan of the show after she appeared to ‘like’ a Heated Rivalry post on social media.

She later confessed, ‘I have not watched yet, but this is on my to-do list now. It’s all I’ve heard about — every conversation I’ve had today has started with you, “You have to [watch it].”‘

Cyrus turned heads on Saturday evening in a sleek, black Tom Ford pantsuit, wearing a plunging black blouse with white polka dots under her blazer.

Meanwhile, Arnaud walked Sunday’s red carpet in a black Yves Saint Laurent double-breasted suit styled by Luca Kingston.

Elsewhere in his interview with Malkin, he shared what his hopes are for Scott and Kips storyline in season two, should they return for the next season.

He mused, ‘I think what’s so great about Scott and Kip’s storyline in comparison to Shane and Ilya’s is the aspirational quality of it.

‘I think for season two, if we are in it, I would want them to face the continuing challenges of bringing that into real life for someone who’s uber-famous to be with someone who didn’t choose that for his life at all and is forced into it.’

The show’s co-writer and creator Jacob Tierney told Rolling Stone that when he first discovered Reid’s Game Changers book series, he was stunned by how ‘smutty’ they were.

Arnaud had a similar reaction, telling Variety, ‘At first I was a bit overwhelmed, I guess, by the intensity of the sex scenes, but I knew Jacob had something that he would turn on its head.

‘People are hooked by the smutty aspects of it, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I think Jacob really uses that to peel away layers. I think the end of it is quite emotionally affecting.’
