Miley Cyrus isn’t going to take orders from just anybody.
In video obtained by Page Six, the star hit back at one photographer after he objected to her putting on sunglasses on the red carpet.
The 33-year-old was posing up a storm at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday when she started putting on a pair of sunglasses – much to the objection of snappers taking her photos.
‘No, no, no!’ One photographer in particular could be heard saying amidst a chorus of protests.
Cyrus ignored their protests, proceeded to put on the sunglasses, before making her thoughts loud and clear to the vocal snapper.
‘If you yell at me, I do the opposite, you know this!’ she told him.
Miley Cyrus confronted a photographer who was telling her to take off her sunglasses on the red carpet
The 33-year-old singer was walking the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday when she took out a pair of sunglasses, which photographers protested
‘I won’t yell,’ the photographer replied. ‘I’m not yelling.’
‘I’ve known you for 20 years,’ she said as she approached the snapper. ‘If you tell me not to put the glasses on, I put ’em on.’
Similarly, Cyrus appeared to note that if she was told, ‘”I love the glasses!” then I’ll take the glasses off.’
At the film festival, she was modeling a sultry outfit on the red carpet and showing off her hair transformation.
The songstress debuted freshly trimmed bangs, reminiscent of her Hannah Montana era ahead of the hit Disney series’ 20th anniversary, and long blonde hair.
She was joined by her mother Tish Cyrus, 58. They looked nearly identical as they coordinated in smart suits and long, beach waves at the film festival.
At the event, Cyrus was there to receive an Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for her song Dream As One from the new film Avatar: Fire and Ash.
For her song, she also scored a Golden Globe nomination for the best original song.
‘If you yell at me, I do the opposite,’ she told the photographers amid their objections
‘You know this,’ she continued as she approached one particular photographer
‘I’ve known you for 20 years. If you tell me not to put the glasses on, I put them on,’ she told the photographer while holding her pointer finger up
At the film festival over the weekend, she wore a plunging, polka dot top paired with a perfectly tailored blazer with a slinky, sheeny material.
She wore matching, straight leg trousers and pointed-toe pumps to complete her chic, monochromatic outfit.
To complete her look, she pulled out a pair of blue-tinted sunglasses for an added edgy detail to her ensemble while being photographed on the red carpet.
Her outing comes shortly after she confirmed her engagement to musician Maxx Morando.
In early December, she made a red carpet appearance with her beau and flashed her dazzling engagement ring on her left hand.
Following their shock engagement announcement, the singer-songwriter is also reportedly considering ‘eloping’ with her beau, 27, in lieu of ‘another wedding’ following her failed marriage to Liam Hemsworth.
‘Miley is really happy right now and in such a good, calm place,’ the source told Us Weekly. ‘She’s not super into the idea of doing another wedding.’
The insider added that the ‘very low-key’ lovebirds plan to ‘celebrate their own way’ with ‘something fun and meaningful that feels very special to them.’
