Mila Kunis and Kerry Washington at Knives Out Sequel Premiere; Jeremy Renner Absent Amid Harassment Claim

Mila Kunis and Kerry Washington projected timeless glamour as they led the stars on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of the Knives Out sequel Wake Up Dead Man on Monday evening.

Mila glowed in a cream satin dress, while Kerry favored a busier brown off-the-shoulder gown.

The 42-year-old That ’70s Show actress and the 48-year-old Scandal star were joined at the premiere at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures by several of their Wake Up Dead Man costars, including Josh Brolin, Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny

However, one actor was notably missing after being swept up in controversy earlier this month: Jeremy Renner.

The 54-year-old actor, who plays Dr. Nat Sharp in the film, sat out the premiere after the Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou made explosive allegations to the Daily Mail that he sexually harassed her and then threatened to ‘call ICE’ on her after their falling out.

Zhou claimed that Renner began sending her nude photos and videos, including a porn clip that he allegedly sent her that she shared with the Daily Mail.

The two were collaborating on a film after earlier work together, and Zhou alleged that Renner later got drunk during a meeting at his house and then ‘yelled for two hours’ while she locked herself in his bathroom for safety.

She shared a photo of Renner drinking a glass of wine next to a half-empty bottle that was allegedly taken at his home. 

Zhou went on to claim that Renner threatened to get her deported after she confronted him about his aggressive behavior.

‘When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me,’ the Chinese filmmaker wrote. 

Renner subsequently denied her claims in a cease-and-desist letter. He admitted to having a ‘brief consensual encounter’ with Zhou, but said he had tried to break things off.

There wasn’t any hint of those controversies when the stars assembled at the Wake Up Dead Man premiere.

The film, a sequel to Knives Out and Glass Onion, stars Daniel Craig as the private detective Benoit Blanc, who is summoned to investigate a mysterious death involving the Rev. Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor) and his congregants. 

Mila stunned on the red carpet in a cream-colored off-the-shoulder dress with a floor-length skirt.

The strapless item featured silver sequined crescents rising over the top, as if her bra was peeking out, and she styled her lustrous raven tresses in thick waves swept over one shoulder.

Kerry looked glamorous in a brown satin off-the-shoulder gown with a plunging neckline, a heavily ruched front and a long train.

The dress included large beaded clasps over her midriff, and she paired the outfit with matching pointy-toed heels.

Cailee Spaeny favored a more reserved look with a black tiered dress decorated with multiple patterned tonal stripes decorated with sequins.

Josh O’Connor stuck to his recent trend of wearing oversize, fashion-forward suits. This time he favored a black double-breasted suit with voluminous pants. 

Josh Brolin was joined at the premiere by his wife, Kathryn Boyd Brolin. He wore a brown sport coat with an intriguing shawl lapel over an olive waist coat and matching trousers, along with a brown satin scarf draped around his neck. 

Kathryn stood out in a pale beige spaghetti-strap dress decorated with beads and jewels in hypnotizing patterns. 

Josh put on a surprisingly affectionate display with his costar Kerry. While hugging her from behind, he planted a kiss on Kerry’s shoulder while she nuzzled her head against him affectionately.

Janelle Monae, who starred in director Rian Johnson’s previous entry in the mystery series, Glass Onion, was a blast from the past in a long double-breasted overcoat, a frilly white blouse, black velvet pants and tall black leather boots. 

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has worked with Johnson on multiple films, wore a casual black jacket, navy chinos, a brown plaid shirt, textured tie and black loafers. 

Former SNL star Fred Armisen was joined on the red carpet by his wife, the actress and comedian Riki Lindhome. 

He wore a charcoal chore coat with an untucked gray shirt, black jeans and gray sneakers, while she sizzled in a scarlet dress and metallic gold heels. 

Noah Segan, who has made brief appearances in all three Knives Out films, rocked a navy corduroy suit with a beige-and-blue patterned shirt. 

His wife Alison Bennet favored a black dress with colorful patterns. 

In a playful move, Noah leaned over to give Rian a kiss on the cheek as the filmmaker winced theatrically.

Caylee Cowan, an actress and the much-younger girlfriend of Casey Affleck, was a vision in a white dress with thin straps. 

The model and actress Alexis Ren added a splash of color to the proceedings with a pale green dress featuring a ribbed skirt, plunging neckline and cutouts over her toned tummy. 

Wake Up Dead Man will have a brief release in select theaters beginning on November 26, followed by a streaming release on Netflix on December 12.
