The stars of Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps are set to reunite for a new show about navigating life as middle aged men.

Will Mellor, 48, and Ralf Little, 44, who played Gaz Wilkinson and Jonny Keogh respectively, have remained friends since their time on the sitcom.

And over 20 years after its first episode in 2001, the pair have come back together for a show for U&Dave called Will And Ralf Should Know Better.

The duo will face an array of challenges which will test them, as they explore spirituality, fears around ageing and living nomadically.

‘Going on a journey with Ralf to open our minds and push our limits . . . what could possibly go wrong?’ Will told The Sun.¬†

‘We’re both in our forties and probably a bit set in our ways, so now is the perfect time to see how we could be doing life better.’

Ralf added: ‘This time we get to explore how we should be living in the modern world while educating ourselves, and having a laugh at the same time.’¬†

Announcing the news on Instagram on Tuesday, Will shared a snap of him and Ralf and wrote: ‘So chuffed I can finally announce my new series with @ralf.little.

‘Coming soon to @dave_tvchannel and @uktv¬†!! Absolutely loved making it so hope you enjoy! #funtimes #oldfriends.’

In December, Will revealed that he asked BBC Three bosses to bring back their iconic 90s hit show, Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps, when the channel relaunched.

The actor, 47, who plays Gaz Wilkinson, revealed in an exclusive chat with MailOnline that he and other cast members wanted the show to make a comeback.

He said it would have been the perfect time to relaunch the show when the channel came back in February 2022.

He told MailOnline: ‘I said I would do another one, just to say thank you to the people who supported it because it ran for ten years.

‘Everyone still talks to me every day in the street about it. Every day, someone will mention it. Their favourite show, growing up and, you know, had a cult following, and it’d be nice to do another series just to see where they are now.¬†

‘But it’s it’s not only getting the cast back together because I know me and Ralph are up for it. It’s more about the channels now. They just don’t seem to want to.

‘I mean, we offered it to BBC, and they said no. And I was just like, I was quite surprised because, you know, they brought Gavin And Stacey back for one, and I think Two Pints went a lot longer than that did.

‘But the BBC Three launched their channel back, and I thought, what a perfect way to bring their channel back with a show that was a flagship of theirs. And they said no and they don’t want to revisit it. So that was the end of that.

‘So unless we do it and we put it down as and we put it on a streaming system, whether it be like Netflix or Amazon or whatever, if they want to talk to us, I’m sure we’d talk.

‘But, you know, we have got to have a channel, or we’ve got to have the funds to be able to make it.’

‘People like nostalgia and people need comedy. People need comedy in their life, and people need a bit of nostalgia,’ he added.

The show, available on BBC iPlayer, follows the lives of five 20-somethings who live in Runcorn, Cheshire, meeting at a local pub to chat about life. It aired from 2001-2011.

Then in April,¬†BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty¬†accused¬†Ralf¬†of calling her old during an awkward moment when he appeared on the show in April.

The actor, 44, who stars alongside Will Mellor, 48, on the podcast Two Pints with Will and Ralf, was discussing their upcoming UK tour.

Joined by Charlie Stayt, Naga, 49, asked Ralf how long he had known Will for as the pair previously worked together on Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.

He began: ‘We’ve always made each other laugh and we’ve always had that kind of ability to be silly and then serious, but, we got old.

‘We got old right? So we still do the stuff we…,’ he said before Naga interrupted to ask how old he was.¬†

‘I’m 44, just turned 44,’ he replied.¬† ‘So you’re younger than me, so you’re saying I’m old?’ Naga exclaimed.¬†

Pausing, Ralf joked: ‘Er…well look old father time gets to us all and Will I think is about…he’s just had a birthday and think he’s about 56 now.’ Naga replied: ‘That is so not true.’

‘No it’s not true but I’m going to make that fact now,’ Ralf laughed.¬†
