Michael Pitt has released screengrabs of alleged texts from his unnamed ex-girlfriend, who accused him of sexually assaulting and abusing her on four separate occasions between 2020-2021, which led to his subsequent arrest on May 2.
The 44-year-old Boardwalk Empire alum posted $15K bail at his arraignment and pled not guilty to first-degree criminal sex act, third-degree criminal sex act, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of second-degree attempted assault, and second-degree strangulation.
In the new legal docs obtained by TMZ on Thursday, Michael asked Judge Joanne Quinones to allow him to travel internationally ‘where he makes most of his money’ and claimed ‘the original bail package was based on a gross misrepresentation of the facts.’
Pitt’s attorney Paul Townsend shared in the court papers alleged texts his accuser sent a female friend in April 2021, which began: ‘When I came over to your house last year after I fought with Michael, I said that he has hit me and that he sexually assaulted me. That’s not at all what happened.’
‘I’ve always flirted with this sexual fantasy of rape and violence because I’ve never actually experienced it. It made Michael uncomfortable because he knew I didn’t really understand what it was and so he stuck his finger in my a** one night because he knew I didn’t like it. That was it and we laugh about it now,’ she allegedly confessed.

‘It’s not a joke to accuse someone of these things and I’m sorry I haven’t corrected this before. I’ve blamed him for a lot of things that weren’t his fault. When we first met I know I made it seem like it was his fault I was cheating on Josh with him and then with Nick the manager from the Great Gatsby party.
‘BTW, I told him that I cheated on Josh with Jah and PJ to p*** him off and make him mad. Because jealous can seem like a proof of love in a sick way. Maybe you know what I mean? I even told him that I had sex with director of photography of his film and sent a naked photo to him saying I missed his d***, that Michael has ruined it.’
During the arraignment, the two-time SAG Award winner’s attorney had claimed his ex regularly performed an aerial show on the trapeze and ropes completely nude while working at exclusive erotic nightclub The Box in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
‘It is a really terrible thing I did and is something that I am so ashamed of saying to him, which is why I haven’t spoken about it before,’ the accuser’s alleged text continued.
‘I was in a really dark place before I moved in with Michael and he has not left my side even after everything I’ve put him through this past year. I know you know I’ve been falling in love with him since I met him. And it’s silly but I don’t know how to deal with it at times finally being with him. [I] worry that it will end and I’ve made up lies about him so, if it does, the people around me will tell me it’s okay.’
In the nine-count indictment, prosecutors accused Michael of forcibly fondling his former flame at his Bushwick home in April 2020 and, months later, allegedly sexually assaulting and hitting her with a wooden plank.
Prosecutors also claimed Pitt – who was previously engaged to actress Asia Argento and model Jamie Bochert – assaulted his past lover with a cinderblock in June 2021 and strangled her on August 7, 2021.
‘Unfortunately, we live in a world where somebody like Mr. Pitt — an accomplished professional who would never so much as contemplate these crimes — can be arrested on the uncorroborated word of an unhinged individual,’ his attorney Cary London told the New York Post on May 6.
