Michael Clarke has revealed that he may suffer from a debilitating mental disorder.
The former cricketer believes he has obsessive compulsive disorder, but has not been formally diagnosed.
Obsessive compulsive disorder, usually known as OCD, is a mental health condition which makes people obsess over thoughts and develop behaviours they struggle to control.
‘I have never been checked, I think it is a given,’ the 43-year-old told the Herald Sun on Monday.
‘It is like ADD, it’s a given. Definitely, ask my parents, you don’t need to take me to a doctor.’
Michael says he is obsessively clean and organised, always ensuring he has petrol in his car and that clothes are laid out for his daughter, Kelsey Lee.
The athlete is also unsure if he has suffered depression in his life, but likewise has not been diagnosed or sought medication, although he did see a psychologist for a time.
‘I’ve certainly been extremely sad, devastated, floored, can’t move for days can’t get out of bed’ he told the paper.

‘Losing family members, losing a couple of my closest friends, so I think I’ve felt the deepest of sadness, but I think it was sadness. I don’t know if it was depression.
‘I’ve never gone to a doctor to be diagnosed with depression, for example, or to seek medication for depression.’
Michael recently went public with his glamorous new girlfriend Arabella Sherborne.
News of the romance with Arabella, 32, who works for Scentre Group in Sydney, emerged last month when it was claimed Michael and the real estate guru jetted off to the Gold Coast together.
They then officially confirmed their relationship when they stepped out holding hands at celebrity hotspot Mimi’s in Sydney just a few weeks later.

The couple kept their romance relatively under wraps by not posting photos of one another on Instagram and only exchanging a few flirty comments on the platform.
Michael and Arabella went Instagram official earlier this month when the leasing executive shared a photograph of the sportsman to her Stories.
Arabella posted a black-and-white picture of Michael’s NASA T-shirt, cropping out his face as she tagged him in the post and said: ‘To space @michaelclarkeofficial.’
The pair have since gone from strength-to-strength, with an insider claiming things are getting serious between the pair.
‘She has had a few boyfriends but is really ready to settle down. Her and Michael are a good match, very cute together. Maybe she will be the next Mrs Clarke,’ they said.
