Mia Fevola is keeping her boyfriend Bass Miller close to her, and out of the public eye.
The daughter of AFL legend Brendan Fevola, 24, tells this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine that she learned a hard lesson after going public with footballer ex-boyfriend Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, 22, with the pair the target of relentless online trolls during their short romance.
‘I learned a lot from that [experience]. I overshared when I was younger and I learnt the hard way that some things are better left private’ she said.
‘[The attention] would have happened with anyone, given I was posting about it so much’ Mia continued.
‘Any public relationship opens the doors for a lot of negativity. There are always going to be critics out there’.

The makeup artist and psychology student also addressed speculation that she ‘pays’ for paparazzi images to be taken of her.
‘It’s funny because a lot of the trolls say that we’re paying them to do that. It’s so frustrating – why would I want to look like that online?’ she said.
‘I’m unaware of it. I never am looking for them, so I never even notice it.’
Mia and Jamarra split at the end of 2021 as a result of intense scrutiny over their fledgling romance, which saw the pair inundated with hundreds of bullying messages on social media.

A source told The Herald Sun there was ‘too much pressure’ on the young couple who had been dating for 12 months.
Mia was subjected to misogynistic abuse online with trolls betting on which footballer she would date next.
She also shared a collage of examples of the sl*t-shaming comments she received since debuting her romance with Jamarra in March that year.
In September 2021, Mia shared the sad news of her split with the Western Bulldogs player on her Instagram Stories, and deleted all pictures of the footy star from her account.
‘[The attention] would have happened with anyone, given I was posting about it so much’ Mia said, adding, ‘I learned a lot from that [experience]’
‘Thank you to everyone for all the photos and messages,’ she wrote.
‘Jamarra and I have now gone our separate ways. I appreciate your messages and thank you for respecting my privacy.’
Mia recently opened up about her new relationship with her boyfriend Bass, telling Daily Mail Australia at the Melbourne Cup in November that things are going ‘great’ for the couple.
‘It’s been great. We went to school together so we’ve known each other for over 10 years. It’s really nice to have him here,’ she said at the time.
‘[He is] someone who I’m super confident with and able to have fun with.’
She added: ‘My parents love Bass and he’s really good with my sisters. It’s really nice to see the relationship he has with my family.’
Mia became part of a footy family at a young age when her mother Alex married the-then Carlton forward Brendan Fevola in 2005.
