Metallica fans have made shocking claims about the behaviour of fellow concertgoers at the metal icons’ Perth show on Saturday.
The Enter Sandman hitmakers kicked off their first Australian tour in more than a decade at Perth’s Optus Stadium.
Fans took to social media following the show to express their disgust at fellow fans who were allegedly using illegal drugs in the crowd.
Many posted on Reddit claiming they witnessed fans taking methamphetamine, marijuana, and DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) during the band’s set.
‘Whoever was smoking shard [slang for methamphetamine] in the pit at Metallica, seriously get a life,’ one fan wrote.
‘You’re surrounded by about 20,000 other people, including kids, who are trying to enjoy a night out. Take your pipe and shove it up your a***, moron.’

A second claimed that they had also witnessed concertgoers imbibing illicit drugs.
‘We had a woman crouch down before Metallica in GA1 and light a pipe, and it was like a beacon for all the derros to shuffle over and ask for a blow,’ they claimed.
A third agreed, adding: ‘The meth problem in Perth is out of control, and to do that at a crowded concert puts all the people around them at risk. That’s disgusting behaviour.’
Another claimed that the smell of marijuana in the crowd was palpable.
‘GA2 smelt like Snoop Dogg’s basement,’ they said.
‘I was quite surprised how many drugs slipped through the net tbh.’
It wasn’t just drug use that was being called out by fans, with one concertgoer claiming they witnessed another disgusting act during the support band Suicidal Tendencies’ set.
‘Genuinely so disappointed at everyone during Suicidal,’ they wrote.

‘A couple of f***wits in GA2, some dude started p***ing in front of me and my mate. Someone else had his arm around me and wouldn’t take the hint to let me go and even more drink spilling and pushing and shoving.’
Daily Mail has reached out to Optus Stadium for comment.
Meanwhile, two men were charged after committing a dangerous act at the anticipated gig.
A 20-year-old man from the Bunbury suburb of Carey Park and a 23-year-old man from Australind allegedly scaled the central tower inside the stadium during the band’s set.
The two men have been charged with a trespass offence and have been summoned to appear in court on a later date.
Metallica will now head to Adelaide for a November 5 show at Adelaide Oval, and then Melbourne for a concert at Marvel Stadium on November 8.
The band will wrap the Australian leg of their tour with a show at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on November 12, and one at Accor Stadium in Sydney on November 15.
The metal giants announced their Down Under tour late last year, marking their first return to Aussie shores in more than ten years.

It is the first time Metallica has returned to Australia since the 2013 Soundwave festival, where they headlined along with Linkin Park and Blink-182.
In 2020 the band cancelled their Australian stadium tour after James entered rehab for addiction.
‘As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years,’ a statement at the time read.
‘He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.
‘We fully intend to make our way to your part of the world as soon as health and schedule permit. We’ll let you know as soon as we can.’
