After wowing fans across the country, Metallica took in some much-needed relaxation on Sydney Harbour on Sunday.
The band – frontman James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo – set off aboard the luxurious superyacht Seven Star, ready for a sun-soaked day of leisure.
The metal icons were joined by friends and family including members of support band Suicidal Tendencies (which includes Robert Trujillo’s son Tye) as well as James Hetfield’s partner Adriana Gillett and Robert Trujillo’s wife Chloe.Â
Ever the rocker, James, 62, stepped out in a pair of black jeans and a Waylon Jennings T-shirt.
He also wore a black and white trucker cap, a pair of aviator-style sunglasses and a pair of black slides to complete the look.
James’ partner Adriana, 45, looked effortlessly stylish in a flowing satin playsuit adorned with Asian-inspired dragon motifs.

Bass player Robert, 61, also came boat ready in a white T-shirt and a pair of Nike Air Jordan shorts and a light blue cap.
Robert’s wife Chloe, 53, meanwhile stepped out in a navy blue gridiron-style jersey bearing the Rx symbol.
She also wore a pair of loose-fitting checked pants and a pair of white sneakers, while wearing her blonde locks in long plaits that finished at her waist.
It was a bit of a family affair for Robert, who was also joined by son Tye, 21, who was on bass duties for support band Suicidal Tendencies.
Tye looked every inch the rocker in a plain black V-neck T-shirt and a pair of light blue jeans.
With his brown locks falling to his shoulders, Tye also wore a pair of aviator-style sunglasses.Â
Kirk, 62, was also in a casual mood, stepping out in a navy blue collared shirt and a pair of red shorts.
He finished the nautical look with a blue Dixxon cap.

The band’s iconic drummer Lars, 61, also cut a casual figure in a plain black T-shirt that he wore with a pair of light grey chino shorts that finished just above the knee.
Lars finished his look with a grey Quicksilver cap and a pair of bone-coloured thongs.

James certainly got his sea legs on the Down Under trip, having been spotted on a ferry to Rottnest Island prior to the band’s first show in Perth.
He also visited a sweet tribute to Metallica’s original bass player Cliff Burton while in Melbourne.
James headed to Melbourne’s iconic AC/DC Lane, where a mural depicting the iconic bass player was being completed.Â
An image posted to Metallica’s official Instagram page showed James standing proudly next to the mural next to one of its creators.
The mural showed Cliff set against a lightning backdrop and the names of the artists – Maid (Liquid Pastels) and Ling written in Metallica’s iconic font.

‘Visiting an old friend in Melbourne,’ James captioned the image. ‘Fantastic mural.’
Cliff Burton was a founding member of Metallica and played on the band’s first three studio albums – Kill ‘Em All, Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets.
He was tragically killed in 1986 in a bus crash in Sweden while the band were on tour.
While Metallica received rave reviews for the five shows they played on their Australian tour, the trip was not without controversy.
Fans of the metal gods made shocking claims about drug use during the band’s Perth show on November 1.
Concertgoers took to social media following the show to express their disgust at fellow fans who were allegedly using illegal drugs in the crowd.
Many posted on Reddit claiming they witnessed fans taking methamphetamine, marijuana, and DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) during the band’s set.
‘Whoever was smoking shard [slang for methamphetamine] in the pit at Metallica, seriously get a life,’ one fan wrote.
‘You’re surrounded by about 20,000 other people, including kids, who are trying to enjoy a night out. Take your pipe and shove it up your a***, moron.’
Meanwhile, two men were charged after committing a dangerous act at the anticipated gig.
A 20-year-old man from the Bunbury suburb of Carey Park and a 23-year-old man from Australind allegedly scaled the central tower inside the stadium during the band’s set.
