Met Gala Fans Rage Over Unrecognizable Celebrities

Many A-list stars were unrecognizable at the on Monday proving that the incognito trend that started with 's black head wrap in September 2021 is on the upswing.

Many of these big names could not be recognized, even by the people who interviewed them on the red carpet.

At times it became a game of Guess Who? with fans at home scratching their heads.

'So sick of stars hiding their pretty, it just sucks and is mega annoying, we want to see the good looks,' wrote one Met Gala fan on .

Another added on X, 'Stop with the stupid stunts and just be the glamorous person we want to see please. It's not , people, it's fashion's biggest night.'

HEIDI KLUM

One of the biggest stunts was made by Heidi Klum who covered her entire face with prosthetics to look like a stone statue.

'This isn't Halloween Heidi, you are confused honey,' said one person on Instagram. 'Can't you just show your pretty face and not freak us out?'

When being interviewed by Ashley Graham she said that she was not that uncomfortable because the dress moved easily.

BAD BUNNY

He looked like a silver fox at first who wore a dapper suit and carried a cane.

But it was young star Bad Bunny who was trying a new stunt. He looked like a distant relative of the pop singer's.

He told Vogue that every year he had to top himself and this was his latest way to shock fans.

Maybe he just wanted to stay on the down low because his ex-girlfriend Kendall Jenner was also in attendance. 

KATY PERRY

 completely hid her face with a mask

The 41-year-old pop star donned one of the as she attempted to go incognito at the fashion festivity.

Perry initially hid her face as she sported a metal and white mesh mask on the iconic stairs of the gala with some saying she looked like a professional fencer. 

The singer also wore a matching white long strapless gown with a trailing cape.

Fans were happy when her mask opened, showing her beautifully made up face.

SARAH PAULSON

Multi-millionaire actress  was blasted as tone deaf for wearing a one-dollar bill mask at the 2026 Met Gala.

The bizarre accessory, as well as the actress's billowing gray tulle gown, was designed by indie fashion label Matieres Fecales.

During her time on the red carpet, Paulson, 51, revealed that the name of her Met Gala look was 'the one percent,' an apparent jab at the United States' ultra wealthy.

He looked like a very chic police officer in his silver-studded leather jacket and slacks that matched his hat.
