Married At First Sight star Melissa Akbay has been spotted looking downcast in Sydney as her reality TV marriage continues to crumble.

After just one week into the Nine reality juggernaut, Melissa, 28, has already drawn the 'villain' tag from many viewers over her treatment of groom Luke Fourniotis, 30.
The communications specialist, 28, was spotted during filming cutting a very forlorn figure as she did a spot of solo shopping.
Melissa cut a casual figure for the outing, stepping out in a loose-fitting pink cardigan that she wore over a white T-shirt.
She finished her look with a pair of wide-leg blue jeans with a flared hem and a pair of light pink sneakers.

Melissa accessorised with a black and white canvas bag that she slung over her shoulder and a pair of large black headphones over her ears.

The reality star was seen tucking into a small bag of chips as she strolled the streets with her groom nowhere to be seen.
She also popped into a local supermarket for an armful of groceries, most likely to be eaten alone in her Sydney apartment.

Things got off to a very rocky start for Melissa and Luke with the groom arriving late to their wedding after he forgot the rings.
He also gave Melissa the 'ick' from the outset, chewing gum while his bride recited her vows.
Their Louth Island honeymoon did little to warm her heart either, with the bride forcing Luke to sleep on the couch.
She also expressed a distinct lack of interest in her betrothed to the other brides at the first dinner party on Monday night.
If that wasn't enough, she also crushed Luke even further during Tuesday's photo ranking challenge, where she placed him second behind Grayson McIvor.

'If someone was to describe who would suit me based on physicality, it would probably be him,' Melissa told Luke.

'And then you. I think you are attractive, you take care of yourself, have a good physique, but I want to be true to myself. So I will put you a close second to Grayson.'
A heartbroken Luke told producers it was difficult to process Mel's shock decision.
'That just knocks me down further, to be honest. Right now I feel massively under-confident,' he said.
He later told Daily Mail that he was shocked by Mel's actions as they weakened the relationship.
'Being the only groom not ranked first wasn't easy,' he said.

'If you're in a relationship, you want to make the other person feel secure. Ranking someone first is such an easy way to do that.'
Luke admitted that even if Melissa privately felt he wasn't her number one, the public rejection stung.
'Even if you think I'm second or third, it doesn't hurt to put me first,' he said. 'It just makes someone feel liked, feel secure. That didn't happen.'

But Luke insists the ranking itself wasn't the biggest blow.
'The main thing was she didn't even let me in as a friend,' he said.
'This experiment would have been so much more enjoyable for both of us if we could have just been friends.'
Meanwhile, a teaser for Wednesday night's episode reveals that the frostiness between Melissa and Luke will only get colder.
Melissa is seen sitting down with Luke, telling her embattled groom that there was a pressing issue she wanted to broach with him.

The narration revealed that the source of Mel's unease was social media comments about her posted by Luke's sisters.
After packing his bags to stay at a 'mate's place' on Tuesday night, it looks as though the relationship is about to hit breaking point.
