Growing up gay, hairdresser to the stars George Northwood, who created Meghan Markle’s wedding reception look and Alexa Chung’s signature bob, never believed he could become a father. Now, he’s due to become a solo parent via surrogacy.
The Luton-born 46-year-old has revealed that his 35-year-old surrogate is preparing for embryo implantation in a matter of weeks, with medical tests complete and insurance now in place.
‘With a baby here this time next year, I’m finding myself wanting to squeeze a lot out of summer,’ he says.
‘I know life is going to change a lot and I want to enjoy fun times before it does. Everything feels as if it’s moving pretty swiftly now.
‘My surrogate is going to be receiving the embryo transfer soon and back in London I’m getting ready, too.’
Meanwhile, meet Delphine, says Harry’s ex
Cressida Bonas has revealed that her new baby has brought back poignant memories of her ‘darling sister’ Pandora Cooper-Key, who died last July aged 51.
Publishing the first photograph of Delphina Pandora Wentworth-Stanley, Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend says: ‘Sometimes, when I look into her eyes, I see a twinkle that reminds me of my sister Pandora.’
Last month, I disclosed that the 36-year-old actress and her husband, property investor Harry Wentworth-Stanley, had given their daughter the middle name Pandora in honour of her half-sister.
The couple’s son, Wilbur, was born in 2022.

Everyone from Sir David Beckham to Gladiator star Russell Crowe has been at Wimbledon this week, but one man conspicuous by his absence is a former British No 1 tennis player.
Christopher ‘Buster’ Mottram has, I hear, been banned from the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
His predecessor as British No 1, Roger Taylor, reveals in his autobiography, The Man Who Saved Wimbledon, published this week, that Mottram, 70, has been persona non grata since 2023 for reasons that remain a mystery.
‘His antics and beliefs saw him frozen out by the establishment,’ writes Taylor, 83. ‘He never became a permanent member of the All England Club which, for a player with his record, would usually be guaranteed. In 2023, following further misdemeanours, he was banned from the place altogether.’
All a Wimbledon spokesman will say is: ‘I’m afraid we don’t comment on our membership.’
Mottram is a colourful, politically incorrect figure who angered the sport’s bigwigs when he wrote a letter supporting Margaret Thatcher in her battles with the trades unions and signed it ‘on behalf of the Davis Cup team’.
Accused of racism after expressing his support for Enoch Powell, Mottram later formed a songwriting partnership with comedian and singer Kenny Lynch, who was black.

Taylor says the All England Club’s expulsion has left Mottram deeply saddened. ‘Buster spent more time there than just about anyone else and it’s been very sad to watch his decline and exclusion, even if much of it has been down to his own failings,’ says Taylor.
The son of tennis players Tony Mottram and Joy Gannon, Buster achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No 15 in 1978 and again in 1983. He also represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup.
Fearne reveals Ibiza secrets…
Pictured last month waving her hands in the air as she enjoyed ‘relentless’ revelling in Ibiza, Fearne Cotton now insists she also enjoys the Spanish party island’s more tranquil side.
The former presenter, 43, is pictured posing as part of a promotion for a travel booking platform. ‘We’ve all had Ibiza experiences that we can’t remember,’ she says. ‘That’s why I’m back to discover with Get Your Guide, and this time I promise I won’t forget it.’
Fearne announced her separation from husband Jesse Wood this year and appears to have had ‘new beginnings’ tattooed on her hip.
She claims to know ‘the best secret spots for soulful yoga sessions’ and is seen practising the dancer’s position.

King Charles’s goddaughter Angelica Hicks has parodied the lavish wedding of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez – by recreating the bride’s gown from the £20million celebration using household junk.
In a video shared online, the artist, 32, transformed herself into Lauren with a mosquito net for a veil, a phone charging cable and a chopped-up pillowcase that belonged to her mother. ‘Sorry Mama, it must be sacrificed in the name of art,’ she wrote online.
The parody mimics Lauren’s bespoke Dolce & Gabbana lace gown with uncanny detail. ‘The irony of it all is that there is a fast way to source white lace and white lace tights,’ she added, referring to Amazon Prime.
Fifty Shades Of Grey author E. L. James is still leaving her accountant breathless with excitement. Newly published figures for Fifty Shades Ltd, the private firm into which she channels her earnings from the erotic novels, report a spanking £3 million profit for the year to last September.
Its reported riches now top £69.5 million. The accounts filed at Companies House disclose a £4.6 million paper profit on her investment assets. Her firm was sitting on £48.4 million in City assets and £22.7 million in cash as at the date of the accounts.
A family relay race in the House of Lords: former attorney general Victoria Prentis made her maiden speech this week, only to be followed immediately by the valedictory speech of Lord Boswell, 82.
He referred to her as ‘my noble kinswoman’, but then added: ‘For full disclosure, I ought to declare that she is my daughter.’
