Paul coupled up with Nancy when the pair were on holiday in Morocco with his brother Mike and the musician serenaded her on the hotel's piano.
The star has detailed how they weren't yet officially a couple and were sleeping in separate bedrooms when he made his move.
Paul explained: 'The piano was sitting in the foyer all day long, and because the rain would not stop, I sometimes went and just noodled on the keys.'
'I was thinking all sorts of loving thoughts towards Nancy, and while I was at the piano, I could see that the waiters who were clearing up were listening.
'But it was nice and romantic, it was a perfect moment, and I thought to myself, we’re not going to stay in separate rooms tonight.'
Paul previously revealed his signature dance moves were responsible for his lasting romance with his wife.

He remarked: 'Whenever I hear someone damning Paul McCartney, I tend to agree with them.
'So when everyone was saying I broke up the Beatles, and I was just overbearing and all of that, I kind of bought into it.'
Paul, along with Ringo Starr and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison is also lending his expertise to Sam Mendes' Beatles biopics, which are currently filming around the UK, including at McCartney's former home in Liverpool.
The surviving Beatles and their estates are for the first time providing full life and music rights for the four-film project, which is scheduled for a release in cinemas in April 2028.
Titled The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event, the project was announced last year.
