Rapper Maxon Margiela — born Mason Reyes — has died at just 21.

The rising star passed away in Miami on Sunday, one week after a reported suicide attempt.

Family members and peers in the music industry confirmed the heartbreaking news, with his sister sharing the announcement on social media, according to Somos Hermanos. 

The outlet reported that Margiela had been hospitalized following the attempt and later succumbed to his injuries.

The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office verified his death.

An official cause has not yet been released.
