Matt Shirvington alarmed his Sunrise co-host Natalie Barr when he sent her a very alarming text on Tuesday.

The TV presenter’s exchange with his fellow breakfast TV star, 56, was shared to Instagram on Thursday by Sunrise producer Sean Power.

Matt left his two colleagues worried when he randomly sent them a pin of his live location via their text message group chat with no context.

Natalie proved her steadfast support for her co-host as she asked if it was a call for help, before offering to dash to the scene armed with a baseball bat.

Her message read: ‘Is this a silent call or something Shirv. I’m closest and I have a car. And a baseball bat.’

After researcher Sean posted the exchange to Instagram, Matt reassured fans as he re-shared the screenshot and added: ‘Whoops – I’m fine btw.’

Matt and Natalie have won over legions of fans on Sunrise for their personable co-hosting ever since their joint debut last June.

The Olympic sprinter joined the breakfast chat show as Natalie’s new co-host just over a year ago after the departure of veteran presenter David Koch.

However, their friendship predates their stint on the show together as Natalie recently spoke about their years-long bond.

‘He’s the type of guy who just fits in. He is a really nice, normal guy with a daggy-dad sense of humour,’ she told the Sydney Morning Herald last year.

Natalie explained that they would often see each other at events and ‘always got along’ before they began working together on Sunrise.

The hosts frequently leave each other in stitches with humorous anecdotes on the show and have quickly become a fan-favourite TV team.
