The actor smiled proudly as his parents broke into stunned laughter, with his stepfather insisting: ‘I said it sounded like you, it sounded like your voice!’

Still in shock, Diana asked Matt: ‘When did you do that?’ as he replied: ‘Last year, it’s a secret you’re not allowed to say!’

She repeatedly gushed: ‘I can’t believe it. That’s amazing!’ as Matt humbly declared: ‘Bit of fun isn’t it?’

His followers flooded the post with praise for the sweet video and Diana’s jubilant reaction, including several of his famous pals.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies wrote: ‘Oh that’s beautiful ♥️’, while EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy and Coronation Street’s Sally Dynevor both commented a string of heart-eyed emojis.

While one of the Masked Singer judges, presenter Davina McCall, also took to the comments to gush: ‘Love this ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️’.

After his unmasking Matt told host Joel Dommett that it was ‘very, very hot indeed’ in the costume, explaining he had chosen to be a penguin because he ‘likes a chocolate biscuit’.

While he branded the judging panel’s guesses about his identity as ‘pretty poor’, after Davina, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama and Mo Gilligan incorrectly theorised it was Peter Andre, Bradley Walsh or Sir Trevor McDonald behind the mask.

The judges decided to send Teabag home, but failed to guess his identity after throwing out names such as Mike Tindall and Judge Rinder.

After revealing himself to be under the mask, Professor Green, 42, admitted he was ‘petrified’ about taking part in the show.

He admitted: ‘To get to a point in my career where I can say, “yeah I’ll do that”. Where I don’t take myself too seriously. I don’t know if I ever did. I probably would have done this fifteen years ago to be fair.
