Matt Damon turned heads during a sun-soaked yacht day off the coast of Favignana, Italy on Friday, showing off his chiseled frame like a true leading man between takes.
The 54-year-old Oscar winner, currently filming Christopher Nolan’s epic fantasy The Odyssey, looked every bit the action star in barely-there swim trunks that left little to the imagination—and everything to admire.
Flashing that trademark grin, Damon let loose with an impressive flip off the bow of the luxury yacht, plunging into the crystal-clear waters like a man half his age and twice as daring.
Just days earlier, Damon was spotted on set alongside Dune star Zendaya, filming a scene against the dramatic rocky shorelines of Favignana Island.
Based on Homer’s legendary poem, the globe-trotting production kicked off in February and will span locations across Italy, Greece, Morocco, and the U.K.
And if recent set photos are any indication, Damon’s putting in work both on and off camera—strutting shirtless down a beach, flexing that gym-honed physique like a warrior ready for battle.

The yacht outing comes just days after Matt ditched the wild, unruly beard he was sporting when he first arrived in Europe to begin filming the movie.
And Damon is no stranger to Nolan’s cinematic universe.
The Golden Globe winner previously suited up as U.S. Army General Leslie Groves—director of the Manhattan Project—in 2023’s explosive biopic Oppenheimer.
And before that, he made a chilling appearance as rogue NASA astronaut Dr. Mann in Nolan’s 2014 sci-fi epic Interstellar, squaring off against Matthew McConaughey in deep space.
Now, Nolan is assembling a mythic dream team for The Odyssey, and the casting rumors are as epic as Homer’s original poem.
Oscar winner Anne Hathaway is reportedly stepping into the role of Penelope, the loyal Queen of Ithaca and Odysseus’ long-waiting wife.
Meanwhile, Tom Holland is rumored to play Telemachus, Odysseus’ son—adding a layer of intrigue since Holland’s real-life fiancée Zendaya is also cast in a top-secret role.
Charlize Theron is said to bring her signature intensity to the screen as Circe, the seductive and dangerous witch-goddess who famously detains Odysseus on her island.
Rounding out the already star-studded ensemble are Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Samantha Morton, Will Yun Lee, and Mia Goth.

Matt was seen last month in the tough Trojan Warrior costume as Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca in a first look at his role

The last time The Odyssey received a memorable Hollywood makeover was in 2000, when the Coen Brothers gave it a southern-fried twist in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, with George Clooney leading the charge as a Depression-era Odysseus.
But this time around, Nolan’s aiming for something grander—a full-blown epic that’s equal parts fantasy, legend, and prestige cinema.
Last month in February, a first look of Matt on the set of The Odyssey was revealed and showed the actor donning armor.
Nolan’s epic fantasy is slated to hit theaters next summer on July 17, 2026.
