Matt Damon chatted about his daughters and what it means being a girl dad.
The movie star, 53, spoke with Andy Cohen during an appearance on his SiriusXM show called Radio Andy.
Matt is dad to daughters Isabella, 18, Gia, 15, and Stella, 13, with wife Luciana, 48 – as well as daughter Alexia, 25, from a previous relationship.
When asked what his best advice is on being girl dad, Matt told Andy: ‘Oh man I don’t know. I wouldn’t deign to give anybody advice other than I just try to listen and be helpful. I mean ultimately it’s about building self-esteem,’ via People.

Adding: ‘You know 99% of the decisions they make you’re not gonna be there right?’ he said.
Andy asked him on how he reacts if they bring a boy home that they are dating, asking: ‘What kind of dad are you when they bring a boy home and they say, “I’m dating this…”‘
Matt said: ‘Oh I’m fine. I’m cool with that. You know what I mean?’
The actor hails from Boston and Andy asked him if he turns ‘Boston’ on his daughter’s love interests.
‘You don’t turn all Boston, like, “What are you doing with my daughter?”‘
‘No, no, no. That’s like an old trope that I think people, you know like to play up. You know dads like to joke about it amongst each other I think sometimes but no,’ Matt said.

He was in town working on the project Stuck on You.
‘I literally saw her across a crowded room, literally,’ he said about meeting Luciana, in an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
During an interview with Vogue Australia in 2018, Luciana spoke about the magic moment.
‘Matt’s story is that he saw me across the room and there was a light on me. And I’m like, “Yeah it was a nightclub – there were lights everywhere!’ she said.
Luciana recalled that people were recognizing him and asking for pictures and autographs so Matt went behind the bar to hide.
‘It got kind of aggressive because people are drinking and stuff,’ she said.
‘He came and hid behind the bar… [wanting to] just hang out back there and have a drink. He says, “Oh I saw you and I really wanted to talk to you.”‘
Luciana said she told him that if he’s behind the counter, he can’t just stand there, putting him to work.
‘He had trained as a bartender for a film years before so he started making drinks. And he made a ton of money in tips that night, because of course everyone wanted to go and see him,’ she said.
‘So it turned into a really fun night and then 15 years later here we are,’ she added.

Matt and Luciana met in April 2003, got engaged September 2005 and tied the knot on December 9, 2005.
They welcomed their first child together Isabella in June 2006, their second daughter Gia in August 2008 and their third daughter Stella in October 2010.
During his interview on Radio Andy said his daughter Alexia’s boyfriend is ‘incredible’ and he and Luciana ‘adore’ him.
‘You know at least our [25-year-old] has you know, she’s got this incredible boyfriend who Lucy and I just love. We adore the guy and to see that she’s making those kinds of choices, really, it’s as good as it gets,’ Matt told Andy.
