Declan Cleary has revealed the surprising way he found out his girlfriend and fellow MasterChef Australia participant Sarah Todd was pregnant.
‘I just remember her telling me on the phone that she can’t fit into one of her dresses and she thinks she’s pregnant,’ the Aussie chef told Daily Mail.
‘So I just raced to the pharmacy and bought one of the tests.
‘She did the test and it came back positive and we were like, “Holy. How exciting. Let’s go for it.”‘
The 27–year–old went on to say that he’s always wanted to be a dad ‘for as long as I can remember.’
‘You always wait for the right time in your life and the right person to come into it.

The Aussie chef sat down for an exclusive interview with Daily Mail where he discussed his Christmas plans with Amazon
‘I couldn’t ask for a better partner to do it with than Sarah,’ he gushed.
The dad–to–be added: ‘More people like us need to be having kids. They’re gonna be so loved. They’re gonna be coming into a house full of so much love and good food.’
Declan has teamed up with Amazon Australia to create a world–first festive mash–up: the Amazon Hot Chriss Pud – a Hot Cross Bun x Christmas Pudding hybrid designed to get Aussies talking.
‘I’ve pulled on the controversy of the hot cross bun always showing up too early every year,’ he said as he gushed about the Amazon Hot Chriss Pud.
‘It’s essentially a hot cross bun pudding that belongs on every Christmas table.’
Declan went on to reveal he would be feasting on the festive dessert this Christmas in Melbourne, celebrating the holidays with his pregnant partner, who is due at the beginning of next year, and her son Phoenix.
The future parents went public with their relationship earlier this year after meeting on the 17th season of MasterChef Australia.

The couple took to Instagram to share the exciting news with an array of sweet snaps in a sponsored post.
‘We are overjoyed to share that our little family is growing,’ they began.
‘These past months have been some of the most precious of our lives. A sacred time of holding this news close, letting it sink in, and soaking up all the emotions with those dearest to us.’
The went on: ‘It has been such a gift to sit in the wonder of it all, imagining the beautiful new chapter that lies ahead.’
The couple said they felt ‘deeply blessed’ knowing their baby would be entering a world already brimming with ‘so much love’.
Between Sarah’s 14–year–old son Phoenix, whom she shares with ex–fiancé Devinder Garcha, and Declan’s dog Sol, the happy couple gushed that there was ‘no shortage of cuddles, laughter, and warmth waiting to welcome the addition to our family.’
‘Our hearts are full to the brim, and we couldn’t be happier to finally share this joy with all of you,’ they wrote, before thanking their fans and followers for being part of the ‘special moment in their lives’.
They ended off the post with a number of hashtags, which revealed the post was an advertisement for pregnancy test brand Clearblue.

‘Always read the label and follow directions for use,’ the post added.
Accompanying the sweet caption was a carousel of pictures, with one showing Declan holding a Clearblue pregnancy test while leaning into his pregnant girlfriend.
One sweet clip showed the happy couple dancing, with Declan twirling Sarah and planting a kiss on her forehead.
Another picture showed Sarah with an ultrasound scan as she showed off her growing belly, while one lighthearted snap showed Sarah balancing a coffee on her already–sizeable bump.
