Martin Lawrence is assuring fans his health is fine after they were convinced something was seriously wrong during the press tour for Bad Boys 4.

During the Los Angeles premiere of the film on May 30, Will Smith led an unsteady Lawrence across the top of a bus, which caused a storm of speculation on social media with fans wondering what happened to the 59-year-old actor.

Lawrence and Smith appeared on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning June 4, and host Ebro Darden asked the actors about the internet speculation surrounding Lawrence’s health.

‘Now Martin… everybody’s talking [about] you on the balcony waving at people, [you’re] looking around, where you’re looking around? … people took it like something was wrong with your health, or something,’ asked Darden.

‘I was like, “Oh, this is rock concert stuff,”‘ Lawrence joked, referring to his surprise at the size of the crowds. “What the hell is going on? [This is] for a movie?”‘

Darden was then more directed asking Martin if there was anything he wanted to tell his fans ‘because they’re concerned about your health.’

‘I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands,’ Lawrence said, adding, ‘I’m blessed. You know, I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.’

Later, as the interview was being wrapped up, Lawrence, seemingly addressing the speculators on social media, joked, ‘I’m healthy as hell. Stop the rumors!’

Martin faced health issues in 1996 when he ran into traffic cursing and screaming. He was diagnosed with exhaustion and dehydration. Then in 1999, he slipped into a three-day coma after collapsing from heat exhaustion while working out.

Will and and Martin made their respective debuts as Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett in the first Bad Boys movie, which was released in 1995.

The pair went on to reprise their roles in Bad Boys II and Bad Boys For Life, which were released in 2003 and 2020, respectively.

It was announced that development on the fourth film in the action-comedy franchise was underway just after the release of the third movie.

The film follows the story of two police officers who go rogue to defend the city of Miami.

Smith confirmed that both he and Lawrence would return for the new movie in February 2023 when it was also revealed that El Arbi and Fallah, who directed the third installment in the franchise, would also direct the fourth film.
