Married At First Sight’s Most Dramatic Makeovers of All Time

It’s the hit Channel Nine reality show that’s about to hit its 12th season.

And as anticipation heats up over Married at First Sight’s 2025 iteration, Daily Mail Australia takes a look back at some of the most striking post-MAFS makeovers. 

There’s no doubt this is one show that can change lives, and judging by the new looks many contestants have sported since appearing on the show, cosmetic transformations are just as likely.

From dramatic colour and hairstyle changes to total body transformations and everything between, here are just a few of the most dramatic makeovers former MAFS stars have undergone. 

Olivia Frazer – Season 9

The controversial Married At First Sight Australia bride, 30, took to Instagram in July to reveal she had made a dramatic hairstyle change.

The once-blonde Olivia showed off her new red colour on her Instagram Stories.

Under the picture flaunting her fiery new look, she wrote ‘my whole personality now,’ followed by a love heart emoji. 

The transformation came after the MAFS ‘villain’ wiped her social media accounts clean recently, by deleting years of posts and photos.

The reality star shared a post to Instagram explaining the shock reasons behind why she had chosen to delete years of social media content.

Alongside a photo of her look frustrated, the stunner wrote some pointed words: ‘No, your Instagram isn’t glitching. Yes, I archived all my photos.’  

Ella Ding – Season 9

Ella Ding shocked her fans in July when she debuted a new look on social media.

The season 9 bride, 30, shared a clip which captured her bold makeover by the talented Jorge Komo at his salon Komo Hair.

Ella has said goodbye to her trademark perfectly styled straight jet black hair and hello to an eye-popping platinum blonde hairdo. 

She captioned the clip: ‘I just love a bit of change every now and again. Made me a blondie.’

Many of Ella’s followers quickly took to the comment section to complement her stunning makeover.

‘Giving Kim Kardashian vibes and I’m all for it,’ one person wrote, while a second user added: ‘It’s everything… and more.’ 

Sara Mesa – Season 11

The 30-year-old MAFS bride, who was paired with Tim Calwell during the 2024 season of the dating show, took to Instagram recently to showcase a very different hairdo.

The reality television star ditched her luscious blonde locks and has now opted for a dark brown colour.

In the picture shared to Instagram, Sara showed off her new hair colour and style after visiting a local salon. 

She captioned her image ‘I did it’ followed by an emoji showing a woman with dark hair.  

Cam Merchant  – Season 6

Season 6 hubby Cameron Merchant revealed  his dramatic body transformation back in June. 

The former Married At First Sight groom shared a before and after photo to his Instagram that showed how far he had come.

The 40-year-old explained that he had spent a year getting fit and healthy and replaced his spare tire with a six pack.

‘The goal was simple… Commit to getting stronger everyday,’ he wrote in his caption.

‘Physically Mentally Emotionally Spiritually. To be honest I thought this dad bod was here for life and I was totally fine with that’.

He continued: ‘But it wasn’t about that, it was for more energy, vibrancy and being stronger and more present for my family and life.

‘Been a wild ride the last 12 months but I made a decision and gave myself permission to Reset, Restart and allow myself to Refocus on all the magic that is possible in this world.

‘I committed to change, discipline, creating an (at times very uncomfortable) morning routine and gave myself grace along the way when days didn’t go to plan and I had a heap of fun doing it!’ 

Booka Nile – Season 8

Musical bride Booka Nile failed to find love with Brett Helling on Season 8, but she found a stunning makeover back in 2021.

The 31-year-old reality star took to Instagram to highlight her shorter, voluminous pink hair along with a pronounced pout in the photos. 

Back in May of that year, Booka unveiled her new hairdo – dying her blonde locks a peachy-hued pink. 

In the racy photo, she opted to wear her top down exposing her slender shoulders.

‘Welcome to hell b*tches,’ she wrote.

Booka joined the rock band Make Them Suffer in 2017 and has toured North America, Canada, Europe and Australia as a member. 

Melinda Willis – Season 10

Season 10 bride Melinda Willis shocked her fans on in June by debuting her bold new makeover on social media.

The beauty CEO, 33, shared a gallery of photos to Instagram revealing her dramatic hair transformation as she bid farewell to her blonde locks.

The stunner now sports a voluminous head of freshly dyed brunette locks styled in elegant waves which cascaded around her shoulders.

Melinda looked like a whole new person in the stunning carousel of snaps in which she rocked her best angles as she flaunted her exquisitely permed ‘do to the camera.

She captioned the photo with some hilarious words: ‘Over on the dark side is where all the fun is.’ 

Caitlin McConville – Season 10

Caitlin McConville has changed a lot since appearing on Married At First Sight in 2023.

Celebrating her 29th birthday last year, Caitlin took the opportunity to change up her look going from blonde bombshell to looking like a completely different person with dark raven locks.

It seems the transformation wasn’t permanent with Caitlin switching back to blonde in March this year.

“Honey I’m BACCCCKKKKK,’ Caitlin captioned a photo shared to Instagram revealing her epic transformation.  

Stephen Stewart – Season 11 

He was known as the ‘hottest groom ever’ when he appeared on season 10 with ‘bride’ Michael Felix.

And the Perth-based hairdresser Stephen Stewart decided to take things to another level in June when de debuted a stunning new look on Instagram.

He began by posting a poll, asking his fans if it was ‘time for a chop’ of his long mane. 

Over 60 percent of replies chose the ‘DOOOO ITTTT!’ option, with the rest agreeing with the second option, ‘You’re nothing without your locks’.

Stephen then revealed he decided to chop his hair, posting a mirror selfie in which he sported a shorter coif.

 His flowing locks are now just past chin length and in a floppy, choppy modern cut.
