Married At First Sight bride Katie Johnstone is enjoying a ‘self-love’ journey in Bali following her brutal split with TV husband Tim Gromie.
The 37-year-old bride was brutally rejected by the serial dating app user, who continuously said on the show he wanted a ‘petite blonde.’
In a cheeky video shared to Instagram on Monday, Katie jokingly said the only ingredients she requires for ‘self love’ are well-sized bananas, cucumbers and carrots.
Filming herself during a trip to the grocery store in Bali —where she has been living for the past 11 weeks as part of her ‘healing journey’ — Katie made excited expressions as she picked up each phallic vegetable variety and winked for the camera.
She also bought one pineapple to include in her zesty lunch plate.
‘Let me tell you, no longer do I put bad things in my body. I’m committed to creating a healthier life, inside and out,’ Katie wrote.

‘Staying nourished, making good choices, and continuing to fill up the self love cup! #selflove #nonotthatkind #mafs.’
Katie immediately won the affections of viewers as a romantically challenged woman who had been routinely rejected in the past, but hoped to end her decade-long single status.
She married PE teacher Tim in one of the first episodes of the season.
Tim described himself as being ‘too nice’ and unfussy when it came to looks, only to reject her immediately.
In a shocking behind-the-scenes moment, Tim pulled a producer aside during their wedding reception to vent his frustrations.
‘Totally not what I wanted. Not good,’ he said.
‘I normally go for short, petite, blonde or brunette. Katie’s nothing like what I usually go for. There’s just no attraction. I can tell straight away.’
Despite the fractious beginning, the pair soldiered on to their honeymoon in Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain, where Tim remarked he’d ‘put the blinds down’ if he spotted Katie nude.

Eight months on from filming her edit for MAFS, Katie looks markedly different to the beleaguered bride fans saw over the first week of the long-running Nine series.
She has been ‘healing’ in Canguu, Bali for the past two months and travelling with a small travel company called Bali With Locals.
Katie has been documenting her solo travels on social media, including paying a visit to a ‘holy man’ for spiritual guidance, volunteering at the Panti Asuhan Tat Twam Asi girls’ orphanage, swimming, using saunas, and sightseeing.
She’s also writing a book.
The EATS founder took to Instagram this week to share how she feels about her time on MAFS now.
‘I left MAFS at the first commitment ceremony… and I’ve never been more sure of who I am,’ she said.
‘Self-care isn’t just bubble baths and face masks—it’s making the hard choices that honor YOU. It’s walking away from what doesn’t serve you, protecting your peace, and filling up your own self-love cup first.
‘Because when you pour into yourself, you show up in the world as the most powerful, unshakable version of YOU.

‘Leaving that experiment wasn’t a failure—it was a win for my self-respect, my boundaries, and my happiness. And that’s what I’ll always choose.
‘If life keeps knocking you down, let it be the thing that builds your resilience, not your regret. Keep getting back up. Keep choosing YOU.’
Alongside videos of herself taking sauna sessions, swimming and relaxing at a luxury health spa, Katie has poured her heart out to her followers.
‘After leaving Married at First Sight, I knew I had to take care of myself in every way, not just emotionally but physically too,’ she shared on Monday.
The Queensland-based singleton appears to be completely overhauling her lifestyle and approach to health and wellness after her brief and ‘triggering’ MAFS marriage.
‘Stress, heartbreak, toxic situations—they don’t just disappear when you walk away. They sit in your shoulders, your gut, your sleep patterns,’ she continued.
‘Your body carries you through everything, so let’s be kind to it. No pressure, no guilt, just love.
‘If you’re in a season of healing, remind yourself that small steps still count,’ the reality TV star concluded as she encouraged her 47,000 followers to Eat, Pray, MAFS.
