Married At First Sight fan favourite Lucinda Light caused a commotion at a hotel in the UK last week after accidentally setting off a hotel fire alarm while saging her room.
Saging, sometimes called ‘smudging’, involves the burning of a bundle of sage to spiritually ‘cleanse’ a space before inhabiting it.
The entire building was forced to evacuate at 6am after the alarm went off.
Fellow MAFS 2024 participant Eden Harper shared a TikTok video of Lucinda’s slip-up, which happened at around 6am on a Sunday while the cast was in Skye, UK.
In Eden’s video, a groggy MAFS cast gathered in the lobby as the fire alarm blasted while Lucinda could also be seen chatting with her castmates without a care in the world.

In the caption, Eden wrote ‘On a random Sunday morning in Skye, Lucinda Light saged her room and set the fire alarm off at 6am, waking and evacuating the whole building.’
The MAFS bride capped off her update with a skull and a laughing face emoji.
Eden’s followers found the situation hilarious.

‘Only Lucinda would be using sage in her hotel,’ remarked another followed by several laughing emoji.

Lucinda quickly became a fan favourite on the recent season of the popular reality show thanks to her ‘authenticity’ and ‘positivity’.
She was paired with Timothy Smith, 51, and though their romance did not work out, they have maintained a close friendship ever since the cameras stopped rolling.
The former on-screen couple have been seen on nights out together, while Lucinda recently gushed over how ‘glad’ she is to have Timothy as a ‘dear friend’.
On the reunion special last Sunday, Lucinda and Timothy revealed they had continued to forge their bond after leaving the show.
Lucinda then closed the reunion as she declared: ‘I’ve got the perfect husband for me. This fella is a total spunk’.
A Byron Bay native, Lucinda boasts 182,000 Instagram followers, close to 100,000 more than the other contestants.
According to Yahoo Lifestyle, major podcast networks are currently competing to sign her exclusively for her own show post-experiment, while several voiceover agencies are also interested in signing her as an audiobook narrator.
The publication notes that ‘there is also talk of future TV work with the Nine Network – who have dubbed her as this year’s ‘breakout participant’.
