Married At First Sight has always delivered drama, but 2025 is gearing up to be the most chaotic season in the show’s history.
Channel Nine unveiled a sneak peek of the 2025 cast on Monday, which included several faces who have appeared on reality TV before and the series’ oldest couple to date.
While the majority of the cast left lasting impressions on fans, some couldn’t help but notice teachers Jake Luik and Tim Gromie weren’t as perfect as the others.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal that the two grooms were absent from the promotional photoshoot, leaving producers scrambling to Photoshop their images.
The images used were producers’ personal snaps taken on both of their wedding days.
Sources close to production claim Jake, 30, and Tim, 38, flat-out refused to participate in publicity day, causing headaches for the show’s marketing team.

‘Jake called in sick with an ear infection and couldn’t attend on doctor’s orders,’ an insider dished.
‘It’s a shame because his storyline was shaping up to be a fan favourite’
Meanwhile, Melbourne-based Tim reportedly wanted ‘nothing to do with the show anymore’ after he wrapped filming.
‘Tim felt like the experts had really let him down, and he wasn’t shy about making his frustrations known. It got to the point where he didn’t want to be associated with the show at all,’ the source added.
Photos of Jake and Tim in the official cast lineup have sparked widespread speculation online, with fans calling out the ‘obvious Photoshop job
‘They did Jake so dirty in this picture … Photoshop on Microsoft Windows Paint version 2003,’ one user wrote.
Another fan joked, ‘I wonder if there’s a particular reason why Tim and Jake don’t have professional photos lol … did someone do a runner?’

This isn’t the first time disaster has struck the production, with previous seasons riddled with Photoshop fails.
Just last year, groom Simon Flocco made headlines after he sensationally quit the show just days before his wedding.
Channel Nine was forced to digitally insert Simon into the cast photo using an outdated wardrobe image he had sent weeks earlier.
The bizarre editing job left fans howling, with many calling it ‘the most obvious Photoshop fail ever.’
‘Producers are probably still recovering from the Simon debacle last year, and now they’re dealing with this,’ laughed one insider.
‘At this point, it’s a rite of passage for MAFS to have someone missing from a major promo shoot.’
