There are worrying reports the latest record from the three-time Grammy-winning rock band, fronted by Adam Levine, has only ‘sold 18K copies.’
On the social media platform X, fans marveled at how Maroon 5 – who’ve sold over 135M records – could experience this downfall after including guests like Lil Wayne, Lisa, Sexyy Red, and Marshmello on Love Is Like.

Indeed, the band formerly known as Kara’s Flowers’ prior albums V (2014) and It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (2007) both debuted at No. 1 and spent well over 80 weeks on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Maroon 5’s albums Red Pill Blues (2017) and Overexposed (2012) both peaked at No. 2 and spent well over 90 weeks on the US Billboard 200 chart.
The six-piece LA group has scored four No. 1 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart – One More Night (nine weeks in 2012), Girls Like You (seven weeks in 2018), Moves Like Jagger (four weeks in 2011), and Makes Me Wonder (three weeks in 2007).
Maroon 5 – who average 72.3M monthly listeners on Spotify – also scored 15 top 10 hit songs including Memories, Sugar, and Payphone.
But the All Night rockers’ new album scored a dismal 2.4 rating from Pitchfork critic Linnie Greene, who wrote that the ‘banal’ record was ‘ultimately meant for the toilet.’

‘Too anemic for the Trolls movie franchise yet too emotionally complex for toddlers,’ Greene savaged.
Rolling Stone critic Sarah Grant gave Love Is Like two and a half out of five stars, and wrote that it felt like ‘searching for buried treasure with gloves on.’
‘There’s nothing inherently wrong with a Maroon 5 yacht-rock era,’ Grant mused.
‘But the impulse toward immaculate control can make the songs feel as if the band has dropped anchor five feet from the dock.’
Last Saturday, Adam appeared on Most Requested Live and admitted he was ‘insecure’ about the reaction to Love Is Like and scoffed ‘the noise is never good.’
‘There’s no amount of success I think I could ever have to where I would feel like every time an album comes out I don’t feel that jittery because I just want people to [hear it] especially this time around,’ the 46-year-old singer said.
‘I just want the music to connect with people because the music is such a kind of pure expression of where my heart is at and it’s very raw and different.’
