She said: ‘Well is my job so I have to be body confident I have no choice. If I don’t do the job I don’t eat, this is how I support myself.
‘For me modelling lingerie is like modelling swimwear so it doesn’t phase me at all.’
Revealing how she stays in such incredible shape, Marie explained: ‘Honestly there are certain tricks I do as a model and the main one is that 10 days before the shoot I stop all sugar.

‘I have an terrible sweet tooth so no more Kit Kats or Mars Bars for 10 days and it’s incredible how your skin sort of just tightens up a bit. It’s good for the camera.’
Host Ruth Langsford asked the star, ‘Do you like to be thought of as an inspirational women?’ as Marie replied that she doesn’t see herself as such.
‘No, but I like that women would look at it and think, “oh she looks good I can look good to,” because what I do is achievable for anyone.
‘It just takes discipline. It really does, working up in the gym it has to be regular, you have to do it constantly. For me, I really look forward to it, as I think I get high off the endorphins.’
Marie also gave an update on her health after she was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, just before her 70th birthday.
Speaking about her diagnosis, Marie explained that the lump seemed to appear out of nowhere.
She explained: ‘I was always checking myself, and it did seem to appear out of nowhere. One week it wasn’t there and the next week it was there.
‘They caught it early, it was stage 1, however I did still have to have a mastectomy, but they were able to save my skin and my nipple so they just removed everything behind that and they they replaced it with an implant.’

While Marie now has the all clear, she explained she has been put on a five year treatment plan which is also taking its toll.
‘I got my all clear, but now I struggling with my treatment, I have a treatment that is going to last for 5 years and I have just completed my first year.
‘The three drugs they use here they mimic the symptoms of the menopause. So it is like I am going through the menopause all over again.
‘I sleep as I when i feel like it, I can’t sleep, I wake up with night sweats.’
Speaking about her breast cancer diagnosis in an interview with the Daily Mail back in December 2022, Marie said: ‘I had a vision, an idea of myself, I suppose, of how fit and healthy I was’.
‘As a model, my body was my instrument and I have always looked after it. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I exercise every day, so I guess it made me think that something like this could not happen to me because I didn’t fit the profile.
‘Now I know what a lot of rubbish that is. It’s made me realise that appearances are deceiving.’
‘Before the surgery I resolved to be strong. I knew I had to get myself in the best possible shape to get through it,’ she said.
‘But now, sometimes I just sit in bed and cry for no reason. Even after everything, there is part of me that can’t believe it happened. No one can explain to me why it did. It is just one of those things.’
Marie, the ex wife of photographer David Bailey, was photographed on a Hawaiian Island on September 14, 1990
