Margaret Qualley Reveals Loneliness Before Meeting Husband Jack Antonoff and Addresses Nepo Baby Claims

Margaret Qualley has opened up about her sex life and relationship with husband Jack Antonoff as she posed for her latest cover-shoot on Monday.

The American actress, 30, explained that she was ‘a late bloomer’ and turned to magazines to read about sex which took away the ‘shame and embarrassment’ surrounding it.

Margaret, who is the daughter of model Andie MacDowell, also debunked nepotism as she revealed she ‘lived out of a suitcase, without any furniture’ when she was just 16 until she became financially independent.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, as she posed for sizzling photos, the Maid star said that she always ‘felt really lonely’ before meeting singer Jack in 2020.

She said: ‘Jack makes me feel safe and comfortable. I spent so many years trying to be someone’s perfect girl, and that girl changed over and over. But I can’t lie to Jack—he’d see through it.

‘So I just have to be myself. He’s been the person I’ve pictured my whole life. And I’m not even saying that metaphorically. My first crush was Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore, and I’ve been looking for that essence my whole life. I’m like, “That’s Jack”.’

The actress married Jack in August 2023, in a star-studded affair in New Jersey, where the bride wore a Chanel halter-neck gown, of course, Mary Jane shoes, and her dark locks was styled in a short bob.

The celebrity guest list included such A-listers as Taylor Swift, Channing Tatum, Lana Del Rey, Zoe Kravitiz, Cara Delevingne, Alex Wolff and Andie MacDowell, who just happened to be the bride’s famous mother.

Margaret has followed in her famous mums footsteps as she has also been on the September issue of Cosmo, back in 1982.

Speaking of her mum Andie’s cover shoot she described it as ‘iconic’ and it made her ‘manifest’ wanting to be on the magazine as well.

She said: ‘Ever since I was young, Cosmo has been the only magazine I’ve avidly read. I was reading this way before I’d had sex. It removed shame from sex. I realized that there’s a world in which you can have fun and not be so embarrassed about it all.’

Despite having a very famous mum in the industry, Margaret hit back at claims she is a nepo baby as she lived alone in New York ‘terrified’ from the age of 16.

She said: ‘It felt terrifying. I didn’t have any friends. I didn’t know anyone. If a guy got on the elevator, I would get off. I lived all of my 20s out of a suitcase, without any furniture. I had a mattress on the floor. And I became financially independent by the time I was 18, so I was super frugal, too.’

It comes after Margaret appeared in Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler, which she talked her way into because she loves the original film.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress revealed her husband lied to Adam via text to bag her the role.

‘I saw that there was an announcement, like, there’s going to be a a Happy Gilmore 2. And I emailed my agents right away. And I said, “Anything it takes. No part is too small. Please! I got to be a part of this. I beg of you, please, whatever it takes,’ she admitted.

Then at some point, Adam texted Jack, asking, ‘Does your wife golf at all?’ He replied, ‘Yeah, she’s actually good!’

Adam replied, ‘No way,’ as the music producer asked, ‘We talking ‘Gilmore’ or charity golf tournament?’

The actor replied, ‘Gilmore. might bug her for a couple days, funny thing. She’d be awesome.’

Qualley admitted, ‘What a good husband. And I can’t golf. He lied for the sake of the family. Yeah.’

As for the sport of golf, she admitted, ‘Never golfed a day in my life. I’m terrible, actually.’

She added that she went into a barn to hit some golf balls for the first time and she did take some lessons, ‘But mostly I’m still bad.’

When asked about the experience working with Adam, Margaret said, ‘He’s the best. It was the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’

She added that Sandler was her, ‘first crush’ and the original 1996 comedy classic Happy Gilmore is her, ‘favorite movie,’ adding Sandler is, ‘the greatest of all time.’
