Margaret Pomeranz has launched a scathing attack on Channel Nine game show Tipping Point.

The veteran presenter, 79, recently appeared on the ABC comedy show The Weekly with Charlie Pickering and slammed the Todd Woodbridge hosted series.

‘One show dares to elevate the genre, tempting fate and fortune amid the spectacle of a bigger than normal arcade game,’ Margaret began.

Tipping Point is a quiz show where contestants answer general knowledge questions to win points that can then be used to win ‘counters’ by knocking off plates in an oversized arcade machine.

Pomeranz continued to slam the show for being lowest common denominator entertainment.

Hosted by Dancing With The Stars series six seventh place recipient Todd Woodbridge, it features a giant Pachinko machine,’ she went on.

Margaret went on to knock the ease of the questions, claiming that a seven-year-old would know the answer to them.

‘The hardest thing was training the mule to kick the contestants in the head pre-show,’ she sniped.

Summing up the show, she added: ‘Todd Woodbridge presents a case study of madness as he is convinced he can communicate with the machine. Somebody get me the paint thinner, I am glued to my seat.’

In August, Channel Nine announced that Australian tennis star Todd Woodbridge, 53, would appear on a game show to replace the long-running show Millionaire Hot Seat.

According to TV Blackbox, a local version of hit British game show Tipping Point would take over Hot Seat’s time slot after its final episode airs.

Series host Todd is one of the most successful doubles players in history and has won at Wimbledon various times.

Tipping Point sees three players battle against a machine with prizes and a jackpot up for grabs.

Fans were left shocked last year when it was revealed Millionaire Hot Seat had been axed.

The show, which is hosted by Eddie McGuire, went into hiatus at the end of January.

‘It’s with great pride and joy and also sadness that I announce this morning Millionaire Hot Seat will go into hiatus at the end of January next year,’ Eddie said on 3AW.
