Kyle previously revealed that he and former Australian Idol judge Harry had a major ‘blow up’ over the phone, and that the pair are no longer on speaking terms.
Speaking to KIIS FM stablemates Will and Woody, Kyle said he got the feeling Harry never liked him, so things were ‘prickly’ between them from the start.
The rivalry came to a head when Kyle blasted Harry in an interview for ‘going on about the pronouns’ of the contestants.
It turned out the radio host was mistaken in his claims and Harry wasn’t happy about it.
‘He rang me, I was leaving, I was climbing up the 3 or 4 steps to my plane while he was lined up for the airport going through security,’ Kyle explained.
Marcia also lifted the lid on her fellow Australian Idol judge Kyle Sandilands’ feud with Harry Connick Jr.
‘I said to someone that he wanted the pronouns to be put onto the contestants’ sheets.
‘I thought I heard him say to a producer, ‘We need the pronouns,’ and I told someone on an interview, ‘Oh Harry’s going on about the pronouns.’ Apparently, it wasn’t Harry. And he rang me and he took great offence.’
Kyle went on to say the conversation quickly turned into an argument during which he told Connick the whole situation was ‘no big deal’ before hanging up on him.
‘I just thought “what a flop” and hung up. That was it. Friendship over,’ Kyle finished.
The pair no longer speak off-set and it’s unclear whether the judges’ spat will affect either one of their appearances on the show in the future.
