Mamma Mia! Star Georgina Castle Marries West End Actor with Father Andrew Walking Her Down the Aisle

Georgina Castle has tied the knot with fellow West End star Simon Lipkin in an elegant London ceremony – with her dad, former tennis star and BBC Wimbledon commentator Andrew Castle, beaming with pride as he walked her down the aisle.

The actress, 32, who has starred in West End hits Mamma Mia!, 9 to 5 and Mean Girls, shared a series of beautiful photographs from the weekend wedding on Instagram on Wednesday, captioned the post: ‘MR & MRS ♡ 07.09.25’.

Georgina looked radiant in a floor-length white lace dress with a flowing train and delicate veil as she posed hand-in-hand with her new husband against the backdrop of the City of London’s grand stone archways.

Simon, 39, who was nominated for an Olivier Award this year for his role as Fagin in the latest West End production of Oliver!, looked dashing in a classic black tuxedo and white cravat.

One poignant black-and-white shot shows Georgina’s dad Andrew – the former British No.1 tennis player – bursting with pride as he escorted his daughter down the aisle, bouquet in hand, towards her waiting groom.

Friends and family packed into the intimate venue, strung with fairy lights, as the couple exchanged vows before erupting in cheers and applause.

The couple, who met in 2022 while starring opposite each other in the West End production of Elf the Musical, were inundated with congratulations from friends and fellow performers.

The wedding comes three months after Georgina’s Mamma Mia! themed hen do in Mykonos.

The bride-to-be and a glamorous group of friends – including her mother Sophia and sister Claudia – spent a raucous weekend on the Greek island, complete with choreographed routines, champagne toasts and even a late-night naked plunge into the pool.

Georgina posted photos of the party on Instagram and joked: ‘If Carlsberg did hens!!!! This was a complete and utter surprise which was so magical! My friends know me better than I do clearly!’

Of course, Simon wasn’t in Mykonos for the hen do, but he’s more than happy for Georgina to let loose in style.

‘I just want to be left alone with a magic book and a cup of tea,’ he said.

‘She can go out and have the best time – and I’ll give her a cuddle when she gets home.’

Simon, a veteran of the stage who has starred in Rock of Ages and Avenue Q, has never shied away from professing his admiration for his now-wife.

Speaking ahead of the wedding, he joked about ‘punching above his weight’, admitting: ‘Her exes are a collection of Adonises… multi-millionaires, washboard-abbed models… and then this chubby little boy turns up.

‘I was in a ginger wig that was ill-fitting when we met. I looked like a budget ginger Trump. I looked awful. I was almost 20 stone — and somehow she fell in love with me.’

Of Georgina, he added: ‘She’s perfect. She’s smarter, more talented, more beautiful. She’s just better than me at everything.’

Andrew has spoken in the past of being immensely proud of his daughter’s stage career.

‘Georgie’s acting career was a big surprise as we hadn’t really encouraged her in that area,’ he told The Times in 2022.

‘But I would never try to force my ambitions on her. I know so many people who are unhappy because their parents pushed them in a direction they didn’t want to go and that’s a shame.

‘She sings and the audience is completely lost in it – myself included. It’s both a ridiculous and fabulous way to try to make a living.

‘We see all of her shows and find it amazing. She was incredible in the 9 to 5 musical, and seeing her in Mamma Mia! in the West End just blew my mind.

‘I’m so proud of her because she’s such a professional – all I ever asked of my kids was their best effort.’

Georgia has just finished playing queen bee Regina George in the hit West End production of Mean Girls – the part played by Rachel McAdams in the cult classic film.
