MAFS UK Stars: Where Are They Now?

It is one of the nation's favourite reality shows as strangers embark on the ultimate experiment to find their happily ever after on Married At First Sight UK. 

However the  show's next series has now been 'axed' by bosses after they came under fire following revelations in the new documentary The Dark Side of Married at First Sight. .

Over the years the show has churned out some big name reality stars and has succeeded in finding some their one true love. 

From and his tumultuous relationship with , to Ella Morgan's work as a trans advocate and Polly Sellman's move to Australia. 

We take a look at where the  fan favourites are now. 

Adam and Tayah Aveling - Series 6 (2021)  

Finding love at the altar back in 2021, Adam and Tayah Aveling officially tied the knot in a real marriage ceremony in December 2023 after two years together. 

During their time on the show he wanted to profess his 'undying' love despite warnings from the other couples on the show they were moving too fast.

Asking Tayah to be his wife at the time, she cried: 'You being serious?' before saying, 'you know I will'.

An emotional Adam said: 'You're making me cry now.'

The couple have since welcomed two children, their daughter Beau, was born in October 2022 and their son Jenson, who they welcomed in April last year. 

Celebrating five years together last month Tayah shared a throwback snap from the first time they met at their MAFS wedding. 

She penned: 'In the midst of kids we forgot it was 5 years since we first met on Monday❤️ this time 5 years ago we were in Antigua on our honeymoon.. where has that time gone!!' 

Amy Christophers - Series 6 (2021) 

Unlike Adam and Tayah, Amy didn't get her happy ever after on MAFS after she split from groom Joshua following their final vows, admitting during the reunion that things ended between them due to his 'lack of effort.' 

A heartbroken Amy added at the time that Joshua also couldn't give a 'real reason' for their break-up.

However, since the show Amy's life has flourished, both professionally and personally. 

With a huge passion for sport, the TV star has paved a career as a sports presenter, working on Sports Tonight Live and her show called '90 MFS' as well as Channel 5, the BBC and Sky. 

Amy is also expecting her first child with her new boyfriend Darren after she took to Instagram in March to share the happy news. 

Amy shared a selection of snaps including a picture of a scan as well as a plaque that read 'Baby Pellow', which also revealed her due date as September 2026.

The reality star-turned Sky Sports pundit said: 'The secret's finally out… and the way I found out I was pregnant is not what you'd expect.

'Keeping this quiet has been torture. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a chronic oversharer. But I'm so happy to finally say… I'm having a baby.'

Discussing her pregnancy in an interview with Heat magazine, Amy revealed she and Darren have only been together officially since November, but have known each other for over two decades.

She credits dating app Hinge for reconnecting with dad-of-two Darren, who she first met when she was a travel agent and he was looking to book a trip with his then girlfriend.

Amy said: 'We had our first date on Bonfire Night, which is my favourite night of the year, and as the fireworks were going up, I just turned around and kissed him.

'But we've both said that neither one of us would have messaged each other. So Hinge brought us back together, basically.'

April Banbury - Series 7 (2022) 

April married George Roberts during her time on the show, yet things turned sour when he was later arrested in the September the same year on suspicion of controlling and coercive behaviour, but faced no further action. 

April previously said she'd been left needing therapy after her time on the show.

The bridal designer said the 'traumas' she experienced after the show 'ruined her life' and claimed the show needs to do more background checks on those taking part.

George's appearance on the E4 show came despite three women who had previous relationships with Mr Roberts reportedly raising concerns about him. Others are reported to have now come forward.

George later went on The New Mind Podcast with Ella McCrystal & Guests in November 2023 where he denied the claims and alleged they were false allegations that 'ruined his life'. 

April previously told The Sun: 'The traumas I have from being on Married At First Sight are ruining my life.

'I was given six therapy sessions and basically told to try and move on. People say Love Island is brutal but MAFS is 100 per cent worse.

'No one should apply to take part until they put in place more stringent background checks.'

'I'm just trying to get through each day. If I slip down that dark hole I don't think I'll ever get out.'

Following the show, April was diagnosed with an incurable spinal condition after being hospitalised with constant pain.

Updating her Instagram followers, April revealed she has now been diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which is incurable.

More recently April is riding a high in her career after she was nominated as a finalist for the UK Top Influencer Awards in the Business Person category and won the award for Best Emerging Luxury Bridalwear Designer at the Global Wedding Awards. 

Earlier this month she took some time off for a pilgrimage in Mexico which she described as 'intense, deeply challenging and yet highly rewarding'.  

JJ Slater - Series 8 (2023) 

Originally partnered with Bianca Petronzi, JJ then started a new romance with Ella Morgan during his time on the show, but the pair split before the end of the series after deciding they were better suited as friends. 

However in a shock turn of events JJ, 33, then began dating Katie Price after the show, after the former glamour model, 47, reached out following his diabetes diagnosis. 

The pair then met for a lowkey coffee and the attraction between them was instant. 

Despite discussing marriage and even having a child together in the future, the couple split in January after almost two years together. 

Katie ended the romance after realising she didn't see a future with the former reality star, 14 years her junior.

Insiders say cracks in their relationship had become 'too obvious to ignore' in recent months, despite Katie insisting they were going strong.

Since his split with Katie she has gone on to marry Lee Andrews, while JJ has also moved on with a tattooed beautician.

While he was said to be devastated after his split from Katie, JJ now appears to be happy once again with a new brunette.

The reality star has reportedly enjoyed a string of dates with beautician Rachel Alexandra.

Both JJ and Rachel are said to have grown close in recent weeks as the former Married At First Sight star spends time in .

Ella Morgan - Series 8 (2023) 

Starring as the first trans woman to appear on MAFS UK, Ella has become a huge reality star and Trans activist since her time on the show. 

Following her split from JJ and still on the hunt for love, Ella took part in  where she got into a relationship with Ali, however they later split up after rumours of infidelity. 

Speaking on 's So Wrong It's Right podcast, she said: 'The relationship wasn't… look I don't want to bad mouth him too much but obviously there are allegations in the press that he'd cheated and was messaging other girls.

'I had some messages from some girls saying that my boyfriend at the time had been messaging them. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. If I'm completely honest… I don't want to talk about it too much and get upset because I am over it.'

Ella continued: 'The breakup was really hard because I was falling in love with him. I told him I loved him. I'm sad because I don't think I was treated very nicely.'

Meanwhile Alex himself denied the allegations, branding the speculation untrue. 

Taking to Instagram at the time to defend his name he penned: 'To address some recent articles, regarding mine and Ella’s breakup. The rumours are not true. Our relationship ended amicably and I have nothing but love and respect for Ella.'

She has also appeared on Celebrity Come Dine with me where she won the MAFS special in 2025. 

The star has also tried her hand at presenting gigs, including Pride events, and became the first trans celebrity to represent Superdrug in 2025 as she fronted a major campaign for the beauty retailer. 

Polly Sellman - Series 9 (2024) 

Polly has transformed her lifestyle since appearing on the E4 series in 2025 and has packed up her things to embark on a life over in Australia. 

The TV star was married to Nottingham barber Adam Nightingale on the show, but the pair struggled from the outset, and although they made it to the final vows, they decided to part ways. 

And in the ultimate glow-up, Polly has since undergone a huge health transformation, dropping four stone as she took to Instagram with a sizzling bikini photo dump. 

Polly also made the decision to move Down Under just days after she pulled out of the MAFS UK reunion with two days notice.

And speaking to fans last month the star explained she 'never wants to come back' to Britain after 'manifesting' a new sunny life abroad but is overwhelmed by the uncertainty of her visa situation.

She is currently on a third working holiday visa and has been left overwhelmed after 'manifesting' got her everything she asked for all at once. Alluding to a new relationship, Polly said: 'It's everything that I've manifested and everything that I've asked for, it kind of all came at once.

'I manifested a good relationship, a nice partner, all of these things that I wanted from a partner.

'Then I manifested sponsorship and then I manifested like a different change of career - I manifested loads of sh*t.

'Then at the end of February all of it happened, all of it happened at the same time. That scared the sh*t out of me.' 

Nathan Campbell - Series 9 (2024) 

Nathan was partnered with Lacey Martin during his time on the show, but they '.

Then during the reunion, Nathan accused Lacey of plotting a 'showmance' between them after the experiment.

In toe-curling scenes, Nathan also shared that Lacey suggested they keep up the ruse of their relationship to 'get magazine deals,' while she hit back that he blocked her on social media.

However despite a dramatic time on TV, Nathan quickly found love in the real world and is dating Love Island star Abi Moores. 

After secretly dating for a month after they were introduced through a mutual friend, the pair confirmed their relationship at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend launch party in March 2025. 

Abigail Lindsay and John Shepherd  - Series 10 (2025) 

Another of the show's success stories, Abi and John are the only couple still together from series 10 and are still as loved up as ever. 

The latecomers to the experiment quickly became one of the strongest pairings and have since moved in together in a major step in their relationship. 

Celebrating their one year anniversary in March, Abi penned: '365 days of laughs, chaos, love, learning, and growing together. Through everything, it’s always been you and me. ❤️

'One year with you, John and I’d still choose you all over again. Every single time.'

Julia Ruth - Series 10 (2025) 

Taking part in the most recent series of MAFS UK, Julia joined the show as a professional dancer from New Zealand. 

And MAFS wasn't the first dating show that the star appeared on after she previously found love on MTV's Are You The One? in 2023. 

Julia quickly became the most controversial bride on the series after she and her groom Divarni quit the experiment. 

But she has since claimed bosses were keen to keep her on the show. 

Appearing on The Receipts podcast, Julia-Ruth said: 'I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but when I was about to leave after the last commitment ceremony, I had a producer come to my room and basically was like, "Is there anything you can do to stay a little bit longer?"

'I was like, "Absolutely not. I’m not doing this anymore. Unless you have a brand new husband, I’m not doing anything. I’m not doing it. I’m done filming and us making up and then being dragged through the mud".'

Julia is now back modelling and performing and has been teaching dance at LAX studio.
