Married At First Sight UK’s Charlene Douglas revealed she was in a wheelchair after being rushed to hospital on Saturday.

The relationship expert, 44, shared a health update to her Instagram Story after falling ill before Notting Hill carnival.

Charlene could be seen being pushed through the hospital in a wheelchair before being put on a drip.

She did not specify what caused her to be admitted but added the hashtags ‘iron deficiency’ and ‘slow down’ to her update.

Charlene wrote: ‘When you had plans to represent your island [Saint Vincent and the Grenadines] at Notting Hill carnival and ‘wuk your waistline’ this weekend. But your body had other plans!’

She later added: ‘Life! Hair looks good though. Thank you NHS England.’

Charlene has been a sex and relationships expert for over 12 years and works on the E4 show alongside Paul C Brunson and Mel Schilling.

Together the experts try and match up a crop of contestants hoping to find someone to settle down with.

As always, the hopefuls are coupled up based on science and sociology, with the brides and grooms then meeting for the first time at the alter.

The newlyweds then face the challenges of married life, moving in together and seeing if they can form a connection with one another.

Each week they are helped by the trio to see if they are meant to be together, and have the option to leave the experiment if it is not going well.

The first Married At First Sight UK star for the upcoming 2025 series of the E4 show was revealed last month as a dental practice manager.

Leisha Lightbody, who has been dubbed ‘one of the most stunning in the show’s history,’ is reportedly due to take part in the social experiment later this year.

A source told The Sun: ‘Leisha is one of the most stunning brides MAFS UK has ever had, and she’s sure to catch the eye of all the grooms on the new series – not just her own.’

They added: ‘Leisha is obviously sworn to secrecy about being on the show, which filmed earlier this year, so there are no signs of it on her social media yet.

‘The cast are set to be announced next month, with the show airing later in the autumn.’

When the publication contacted C4 for comment, a spokesperson told them: ‘We do not comment on speculation. The MAFS UK cast will be announced in the coming weeks.’ MailOnline has also contacted C4 for comment.

Applications for the upcoming series of the show closed back in February.

Although nothing has been confirmed, the programme usually airs in September each year and wraps up in the middle of November.
